Birch and Adler serves Black Cup coffee so of course it tastes wonderful. It took about 23 minutes to wait in the drive-through so plan ahead if you are planning to stop here. There appears to be some inside seating, but only the drive-through was open when I visited in May. They were sold out of almost all the food items.

5/5 isn’t enough. 11/10 is more like it. Thousands of people drive past every day and don’t realize what they’re missing out on. I had the Sandwich Special and my friend had the Bagel Special, and we both loved what we had. It tastes super fresh, has high quality ingredients, and was just delicious. The employees were friendly, and you can’t beat this view! Make sure you stop on your way down Seward Highway.

I wish they were open a little later in the evening, but I had a birch latte and it was delicious, as was the foccica (lol I didn’t want a whole sandwich or meal but had a taste for some bread). I hope to be by again soon.

This place is phenomenal! Passed through today and got the lox bagel. I am so impressed with the dedication to locally sourced, high quality food. This stretch of highway needed something like this. Will definitely be returning.

The food and coffee here is really outstanding. Try the freshly made bagels and get it with the works - lox, cream cheese, and all the other fixings.

Lovely owners, incredible vegan options (bagels, soup of the day, overnight oats, home-made plant-based milks and more) and a beautiful drive to get there...You gotta go and pay Birch and Alder a visit!

The atmosphere was 3 stars because it was a take out window small little business with quirky hours foods good a little steep on the price but I understand with a small Venue and a small business

Absolutely delicious. I had a Mocha with their self-made nut milk and it was the best I’ve ever had. The everything bagel with the works was excellent. And the blueberry scones are perfection - not too sweet and crumbly soft. Highly recommend. You can feel the love and respect for local, natural, ingredients in their food and coffee!

We went here 4 or 5? times during the week I was visiting family in Bird Creek. Quality, delicious, good people. I dream about their scones.

Finally had a chance to stop here, and now I think I’ll have to stop every time we go by there! Delicious food and great beverages. The focaccia was incredible! As well as the savory scone. I might have to go back tomorrow…

These are the best scones you’ll get anywhere in Alaska. The coffee has always been fresh and strong. These are also truly good people with roots within the local community and they take pride in their work. It’s a wonderful place to stop and grab a bite to go. It’s the hidden gem of Turnagain Arm.

We just ate 2 great scones, a great cup of coffee and a London fog. Amazing service. What a great stop between Anchorage and Whittier. See you next weekend.

We were on the way to Girdwood & saw this cute spot. We had no idea what to expect & ordered some sandwiches- no exaggeration the prosciutto, burrata, tomato and arugula on focaccia was one of the best sandwiches in recent memory for me. the salt flakes on the crispy bread. Would recommend.
