Chicken salad is delicious!! Great coffee!!Met my cousin for lunch. It is a busy hometown coffee shop. Staff is friendly and helpful when making choices for coffee.

Best Hometown Coffee and Cafe shop. Barrister is very knowledgeable of extensive brew selections. A favorite for locals to go for early breakfast or late lunch.

I was so disappointed that this coffee shop didn't have slices of cake. My only choice was pound cake and it was just okay.

This will sound more negative than i intend, but the review is intended to manage expectations, especially for those from outside the area. The good: the place is crazy cute and the outdoor sitting area is full of charm and a great place to read, chat, or do work. The have some vegetarian and vegan options, which is hard to come by in this part of the country. I've been here a few times and the service has ranged from great (younger girl) to average (middle aged women) to tolerable (I think she was the owner). The bad: this is largely a matter of perspective and what you're used to, however, most of my issues are what you'd expect from rural Alabama. Everything is single serve. My meal was served on a Styrofoam plate, with a plastic spoon, wrapped in plastic. The coffee, even when not to go, was offered in a Styrofoam cup. The avocado toast is wrote possibly the first time I've had that kind of white bread since the 80s (the toast was good though). The hash browns are just pre-made frozen patties. Things such as that. Obviously, the locals love it, and I understand why, but if you're passing through or heading to some of the lovely trails in the area, it's good to know what to expect.

Really great coffee. Slightly heavy on the sweet stuff for my taste so if you prefer more of a coffee taste opt for an espresso shot in your coffee. The sausage bites and brownies were great as well. Definitely suggest visiting if you're wanting at the hospital for the day.
