This review is for the doughnuts (not breakfast, lunch, or dinner menu): doughnuts were average, definitely not worth $2.50/each, not any better than Donut Joe’s or KK; cashier was aloof, acted as though I was inconveniencing her and that she could care less whether I bought anything or not.

They are a staple for Homewood. Occasionally enjoy their donuts. I really loved the one I had that had the peaches on top. It was amazing. Can’t wait to have it again, but they do have several other kinds that we like. Burgers are really good occasionally.

Hero donuts is such a fun and tasty experience every time! The neon lights, cereal donuts, savory breakfast sandwiches, and the strongest cold brew I've ever tasted all put you on cloud 9! Something about the atmosphere and the attitude of the staff makes you embrace your inner little kid. I love going in here for breakfast!

Didn't have the sea salt caramel doughnuts today but they will bring back the Strawberry shortcake for May 2023.

We travelled to Birmingham from Gainesville, GA to celebrate my sons birthday. We met for breakfast at Hero’s and it did not disappoint! It was a Sunday morning between early and late church services and the place was hopping!! The menu was a little different than a typical breakfast spot which I liked. (I’ve since heard their burgers are fab). The wait to order was minimal and we lucked into a table right away. My granddaughter thoroughly enjoyed the bear claw we ordered to eat while waiting on our breakfast. The coffee was outstanding. I forgot to ask what it was but it was far better than an institutional brand. The self-serve coffee bar had three milk options; half and half, almond and oat milk. I don’t use sweetener but I’m willing to bet they had good choices. The food arrived promptly by a super friendly young man. Everybody’s order was different and yet everybody’s order was spot on correct. I had the Hero Breakfast and picked turkey sausage for my side. The meal was great but the sausage was soooo good. My son and DIL had the French toast and it looked divine. After breakfast we walked across the street to the cutest playground/park and had a lovely time. We actually chatted on our way out with the same friendly young man who brought our food to us. He noticed our car tag was from Hall County, Georgia and that’s where he grew up! He was adorable. The location of Hero’s is easy to get to, we had no trouble finding a place to park and the food and service were outstanding! I highly recommend Hero’s!

Omgawwwww!!! Hero's Donuts in Homewood's MAPLE Donuts are the BOMB!!!!! Fantastic. Perfect. Precisely the right mix of thick, buttery glaze drenched over the tops of them, and if you're lucky enough, running down all sides of each donut and underneath or outwards drying into thick little chunks of splendid nibblets of glazed icing for when everyone's eaten them all but you're just CRAVING a weee bit more of that amazing glaze, so you open that empty box and have some more of their divine maple-flavored glaze that remains inside the box and the wax paper 😋😚<chef's kiss> ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Special mentions for Patrick, who always makes my superb mocha lattes for me (personally, his hot ones are the best in the 'Ham), and to Hannah, who makes THE most excellent iced mocha lattes in the 'Ham! Simply yummy!😋

I saw a review that said the donuts are a bit sweet. I don’t disagree, BUT they’re amazing! They’re not the sort of thing you’d scarf a dozen of in five minutes of self-loathing. They’re the sort of delicacy that you enjoy as a treat for a big win, or to make yourself just a little happier on a sunny morning! Simply delectable! The staff was amazing - the atmosphere is warm, inviting and professional. Everything you could hope for! I can’t wait to go back and try a burger! Go. Enjoy. Treat yourself!

My first time here. Will definitely be back. The guy that took my order was polite and friendly with a nice smile. I got the apple fritter, loaded hash browns and a cold brew. Food was good! The coffee was smooth, among the best I have had.

Solely disappointed, Drove down from Huntsville Saturday morning, we got to Hero Dounts around 10:30. i wanted to treat my family who's visiting from out of town to what we thought was a unique and normally good donuts. All they had left was your basic leftover dounts. On a Saturday morning ?

Very very good but also pricey. A burger, drink, and donut was $20. But overall would recommend, donuts are always amazing

A gem in Homewood! There is usually a bit of a line/wait in peak weekend morning hours but we hit it a little early on a Sunday and got served right away. The donuts are large, delicious and worth the price!

Great place, highly recommended for food. My complaint about not giving a military discount has been fixed Thank you Hero Donuts. But I just visited today again being I was in Birmingham and love this place.

Good food, but very expensive. A sandwich alone or a chicken nuggets combo meal for 1 person can cost $15.00.

Good donuts but $$. Got 2 dozen for $69 (!) - birthday donuts for son’s class. Was in a time crunch and couldn’t turn around to go elsewhere. They’re good, but not that good. You’re paying the location, the # employees, the interior design etc. I could’ve done better at Pastry Arts for that price….
