Benchwarmer's Coffee & Doughnuts

I really enjoyed my visit at this coffee shop. It was very local-feel and the owner was kind. The doughnuts here are handmade and HUGE. Doughnuts here are very doughy and not as sweet. The espresso drinks are simple but good.

The coffee here is amazing and the fresh made donuts are so good! They have other breakfast sandwiches as well in donut form. They open up Monday through Friday at 6am.

Best service and donuts ever!!!! If you need an office pick me up I highly recommend taking in a dozen of these!!! I'm from out of town...they made it so easy to order via email and the donuts were ready when I requested! I'll definitely be ordering them again....possibly just for myself! haha!

Stopped here by chance on a drive from DC to Pottstown and was pleasantly surprised! Coffee was fresh and the donuts were excellent. I got the rise and shine and SO got an egg sandwich. So glad we took a chance on this place!

Absolutely delicious handmade doughnuts, baked fresh using yeast bread (which makes them deceptively lighter in density than your average doughnut). They are huge and therefore shareable (but no one would blame you for eating one by yourself!). I definitely recommend the Drunken Pirate with its butter rum glaze and bruléed banana slices. I also recommend their decadent breakfast sandwiches (with nice, crispy bacon). The coffee selection is simple but perfectly so. The coffee beans are roasted on site, and it shows in the quality. Same goes for the collection of teas, from herbal to various black blends: quality reigns over quantity. And still, choosing a coffee or tea can be daunting. The owner is highly knowledgeable and congenial. Despite the smallness of the cafe, the staff are neither in-your-face friendly nor rude and unapproachable. By the way, if you find the coffee not exactly to your liking, they have plenty of sweeteners and milks/creams at the side counter for you to select from.

I was in West Reading last week and the color scheme and southwestern theme (painted saguaros, prickly pear, and agave) of this corner café storefront caught my eye. I headed in. I enjoyed a delicious, affordable large cup of coffee. The coffee was sooooooo good I returned the next day. I enjoyed another wonderful cup of coffee along with a delicious donut-based breakfast sandwich with egg. The food was incredibly light and appealing despite being 'donut'-based. While seated at one of the tables, I overheard a conversation between a customer and a barista. The customer questioned how it is that every time he gets his coffee there the coffee is at the "perfect temperature" for immediate consumption. The barista offered a technical explanation, contrasting their production method with that of most other shops. I was struck by the customer's reference to the 'perfect' temperature because he was absolutely right! Wonderful little coffee shop! I will forgo other coffee shops and head right there the next time I am in town.

I would say some of the best donuts I ever had in berks. Only issue is the huge jump in price. I had gotten a half dozen for about $22.

This place is small but great. I usually come on the weekend and always get a specialty coffee with a donut, both are awesome. The staff is very friendly and they make you feel welcome.
