What a gem! Wonderful coffee. Warm and friendly atmosphere. Great staff. I didn't try the food yet. That will be reported on after my next visit. This place is quaint and charming and welcoming...with the canal literally in it's back yard it is a nice respite or destination when walking, jogging or biking along the beautiful country. Enjoy nature and relish in an adventure in coffees! ... I am also heading back to pick up some unique gifts!

Sometimes you wanna go where ever body knows your name!!! This is the place. My daily morning visits make my day! I love the staff and the location and it just feels good to be here. I love seeing the locals every morning and checking in on everyone. The owners are like family! Stop by and visit the gem! The coffee is amazing and the food is outstanding! My go to is French toast !! Yummy

great little cafe restaurant on the path. A good lunch spot.

Very nice location nestled between the river and the canal. Ample parking, sweet cafe and gift shop. Lots of outdoor seating on the front porch and out back. Unfortunately, the coffee was 'meh'. They are a roasting company. I was psyched to try the coffee and it was truly underwhelming. The food was no better. Fluffy, huge pancakes, but with just an average taste. Syrup? Completely tasteless. Ugh. Eggs were okay, potatoes and bacon...meh. Pretty disappointing.

This place has that old hometown charm with a cute general store look and cheerful employees. Not to mention the delicious array of coffees and teas!

Breakfast sandwiches were excellent. Coffee was nice & bold, just the way I like it. Nice setting along the canal. Nice old time general store. We'll be back!

Great coffee and breakfast for a great price. They also make very good sandwiches at a very good price. They have a variety of drinks, ice cream and snacks (including fresh baked goods). It sits on the canal tow path. As you're walking, running or riding your bike on the canal in Upper Black Eddy, you pass the outdoor patio and are 12 get from the door. It's a great place to stop to refresh.

My wife calls the Homestead my 'happy place'. It takes us almost 45 minutes to get there on Sundays, but it is worth every minute of the trip. We load our dog, get the Sunday paper and enjoy the Zen producing ride up the river. I find that when I am finally moments away from pulling in the parking lot, all the cares of the week seem to melt away. The owners really have created a place where it's easy to feel some real piece of mind for an hour or two (of which we are regularly guilty). The food is terrific and served with real care. The coffee, oh the coffee. Its roasted in a barn on the property, and it's obvious how much effort has gone into the process. I come because I cannot get any coffee in my area that reaches Homesteads level of dedication to the craft. And my golden is very happy when he knows we're going there. And that is just about more important to me than other things in the world.

We love this place. I credible location on the old canalnow a walking/biking path. Food is incredible and they even offer gluten free options. The atmosphere is a warm country setting with indoor and outdoor seating under the arbor next to the canal. The Black Eddy's Darkness roast done on site is amazing. Their homemade chili is worth the trip! We drive an hour to visit this place at least once a month

Great coffee. Hands down some of the best coffee in the area. Go in the spring or fall and walk the canal trail with a nice cup of coffee. Also they are dog friendly.
