Unbelievably friendly staff, amazing tea selection and great coffee! A truly unique State College experience and makes you feel like you’re in a cafe in Australia!

I recommend trying a coffee, the smoothies and the avocado smashed toast - delicious!

This cafe is a great place to post up and get work done if you’re a remote worker or for the start-up community. It will be busy in the mornings, but service is quick.

THE. BEST. COFFEE. IN. TOWN. There’s not much arguing, it’s simply the best. Roasted in store, locally owned, and you can get a delicious variety of coffees that have bursting flavor. I’m waiting for the day when they open a store on the N Atherton side of town! Also hoping for a drive through option... but it is WELL worth the trip inside if you go.

Rothrock has the best coffee I've ever tasted. The prices are amongst the most affordable in State College, in my opinion, considering the quality of their coffee. The flavors are absolutely delicious! If you like to drink your coffee black, you are in for a real treat. Of course, their coffee still tastes amazing with a little bit of cream and sugar. The smoothies at Rothrock Coffee are also amazing! My favorite is the chocolate and banana smoothie.

Really nice coffeehouse in an unexpected place. Their roasts are pretty good and the staff is very friendly and qualified. The espresso's work well with milk, but could improve as standalone shots. Definitely a place to visit for coffee geeks!

I spent four years in State College as an undergrad, and countless hours of my time were spent studying at Rothrock. Rothrock Coffee inspired my love for specialty coffee. It was the first specialty shop i ever visted, and over the last 5 years i have yet to find a shop of the same caliber. This includes travels in the PNW. This shop spends hours sourcing and roasting coffees that are truly world class, paired with a simple, no frills food menu. Do yourself a favor and try this shop!

Best coffee in town, much better than the charcoal juice they serve at clarke’s. A tad pricey but worth it. Nice atmosphere, a good place to study/work, though I wish they had comfy chairs.

This place is wonderful. I try a different type of coffee with every visit, and I haven’t been let down! The chai latte is divine. The staff is friendly, food is delicious, and the atmosphere is welcoming. There’s lots of natural light, outlets, seating, and parking. It is a little pricey, but the quality of their food and drinks is worth it. It’s my go-to coffee shop in town.

Rothrock is located on the edge of town, not in downtown State College. Hard to walk to, but worth the ride on a bike or drive in a car. I'm a creature of habit so I always get an espresso macchiato, avocado toast, a smoothie, and small coffee to go. This costs a fair amount of money, but that's why I graduated from Penn State in the first place - so that I could afford cool things in life. I'm only back every month or so to visit friends, family, or to road bike/mountain bike/gravel grind, but I always stop by Rothrock Coffee. There is another place to get good espresso in town, but Rothrock's a good location for me and their avocado toast has been spot on. Lately, however they've replaced the arugula with some micro greens that just are not the same. I like mixing it up a bit, but they've got to try something else. So next time your in town (and I'm not) go there. If I'm in town, go somewhere else so I don't have to wait in line.

Simple menu, but very good coffee. Trends toward light roasts/acidic coffee. But their staff are helpful and interested in coffee, while managing to not come across as pretentious. Having the roaster out front is nice. If you come in the mornings, you'll often find someone roasting coffee. Nitro brew is super tasty!

Awesome coffee and overall experience. I went to Rothrock for the first time the other day and I'm glad I did. You have to try the Nitro coffee! I was so pleased with it that I'm going back again today. Easily my new favorite spot and close to my office. Keep up the good work!
