Local independent coffee & original recipes cafe. Breakfast served throughout the day( check for kitchen service hours) This is my go-to coffee shop. The owner/ operators and their staff are really cool, I really like the laid back atmosphere. Live music on a regular basis.

I've only been here twice and each time I leave totally stuffed from the amazing breakfast foods. I'm not much of a breakfast person, but their food is worth it. The staff are super friendly and the place is really relaxed.

Rude owner--I think his name was Ed was berating a server for getting the table next to us order wrong. No good bands anymore. Just lackluster and not worth the drama

Most of these negative reviews sound like illiterate goons who walked into a small-town cafe/venue expecting a 5 star restaurant or performing arts center. Steel City is perfect for what it is. And with the new ownership and renovations, it's on it's way to become an even bigger hot spot in the Philly suburbs.

It's intimate (5 stars).
The food is delicious and decently priced (3.5-4 stars)
It's trendy and family friendly (5 stars)
The service is great most times (4 stars)
The sound is ever-improving, and better than 90% other venues of it's size (4 stars)

But most importantly, it's run by people who care about the community. It has stayed open through the hardest times and shown that whoever is managing this space wants to do more than just profit on business - and they're constantly looking for ways to improve. That alone is enough to give 5 stars.

Went here for coffee. Half a pound of freshly ground morning mojo ground for a French press $9 and change) along with a cup of it to go. When my to go coffee tasted watered down I assumed it had to do with an employee new to making coffee. Then I got home to make my own cup and it was just as bad. I don't know about anything else they sell, but it doesn't bode well that their selling coffee flavored mulch at a high price. Would not recommend.

Cute little coffee shop to hang out in. Staff has always been friendly when we visited. I have to agree with a previous reviewer that the placement of the register is not in an ideal spot. Cool spot otherwise! Try one of their brookies! Yum!

I stop in at Steel City almost every Wednesday while my kids take their piano lessons. I love the coffee, the kids love the cookies (or other dessert), and we all enjoy the creative ambiance of the place!

Sometimes my wife and I get a baby-sitter and enjoy the live shows they host! Other times I might just bring a kid with me.

Awesome local place — can’t believe we lived in town for a few years before stopping in. Now we’re there all the time!

Great cafe! Allow you to order curbside and sit outside. Bands play inside during non-covid times. A lot of great food options! More than you would think. Coffee is fantastic too.

Love this spot. Owners are great people. They have cool events. Great customer service and experience all around!
