Nice quiet spot with lofted ceilings and good amount of natural light. I went there to try out a new spot and it wasn't too bad. Most of the time I was able to just quietly read and everyone else was generally pretty quiet as well.
Reliable, independent coffeehouse, low-key and friendly staff, great place to get excellent coffee and use wi-fi or have a meeting. Best coffee shop option in the neighborhood. Was happy to stumble across this gem on Church Street.
This review is based purely on their coffee beans, because that's all I go there for. They roast their own beans, but apparently they do a pretty crappy job. I've tried to make espresso out of a number of their varieties and none are any good. The Cadillac of the group - the six bean espresso blend - sucks hardcore. Tastes like burnt Chock Full O' Nuts. I don't get it. Even the pre-ground Lavazza in the black can is way better than this.
Cute little coffee shop tucked away on a side street in Old City. Coffees and hot chocolate are solid. There is a quiet sitting area adjacent to the cashier area where you can study or simply fritter time away.
Coffe was decent but it would have been a better experience if they took your name or gave you an order number so people who ordered after you don’t grab your drinks. Had an excessively long wait. Staff was polite and friendly.
Stingy management at Church St. location. Random petty rules make this a very unfriendly establishment. Don't ask them to double cup a hot cup of tea or they will charge you 50 cents for the cup. And whatever you do don't ask for a small sample of the coffee. Even after you've already made a purchase. They will give you a condescending speech about how they are "not in the habit of giving away anything for free." Someone doesn't understand customer relations.
Great drinks (I got an iced dirty chai and my husband got an iced americano), great staff service, great food (berry danish, chocolate croissant, blueberry muffin), and lovely charming atmosphere sitting in the side room or outside along the few tables outside. If I lived in this area, I'd go all the time.

One of the best coffee places in Philadelphia, roasted and sold in place. Expensive but worth it.

Delicious homemade muffins and treats. Great small batch coffee. Hidden on Church Street but popular among all of us in the neighborhood!
