If you're visiting Philly and you're looking for a nice place to get a drink and a croissant, COME HERE. Whenever I see people going to a Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts in Center City, I can never understand why. Why go somewhere you could have gone to at home when there are places like this? I've come here multiple times. The first time I saw this place, I was by myself and I was curious about the area. They have the most amazing iced coffee and earl gray. The most recent time I came here was for a meeting. It's the perfect place for any cafe need. The meeting went amazingly. There's not enough room for other people's chatter to overtake your conversation, but it doesn't really get quiet enough for your conversation to carry throughout the place. I absolutely love this place.
My Husband, Frank, daughter-Monique-and I have been frequenting Old City Coffee for many, many years. Jack and his wife are without a doubt the nicest people you would ever want to meet or do business with. The products are "outstanding" and the staff is super! Just ordered another gift card and, Sam?, was soooo professinal and genuinely nice. Thanks agian--especially during this difficult time. All Stay Safe & Well!! Carmella
Overall better experience and service than Starbucks. They offer coffee by the pound that range from $13 to $16 per lb. which is a little pricey but worth it. They have a daily assortment of muffins, bagels, and pastries. They also offer fresh squeezed orange juice, mixed salad, a vegetable wrap, granola with Greek yogurt, oatmeal, chocolate chip and oatmeal raisn cookies. You can also purchase the granola by the pound. It has a soft texture and is delicious. Ask for a loyalty card which gives you a free pound of coffee after the purchase of 10 lbs. They have tables and chairs to enable customers to enjoy their coffee in a relaxed atmosphere as well.
It's a small shop, but has seating available. The coffee is well-made and the staff is friendly. 10 times more flavorful than a Starbucks, and the prices are fair. Definitely give this spot a try.
I got a perfect soy latte when enjoying a day in old city. I have high standards when it comes to my drinks, and they exceeded my expectations. There are some massive cookies, bulk tea & coffee, misc. baked goods, ice cream and milk shakes available too. My husband had an oatmeal raisin cookie, my cousin a cappuccino milk shake. Both enjoyed and finished their tasty treats and we rested our feet in the cute cafe. We will for sure go back.
Coffee and cookies are awesome. The furnishing could use some love - kinda jenky tables and chairs I'd expect from a lesser coffee shop. It feels like it should be a small cozy place with maybe cushy chairs, maybe a little electric fireplace jib - that would way better suit the vibe here.
Years ago I lived in an apartment above old city coffee. Still a powerful memory of their powerful coffee aroma coming up through the floor boards. Great coffee especially good with a generous dosing of cream. Cobblestones and the venue of an old sugar refinery complete the atmosphere.
The coffee is delicious (a surprisingly large number of cafes have mediocre or terrible coffee) and sitting outside is simply delightful along the cobbled street lined with flowers and pestered dog walkers. There's a nicely sized inside sitting area though I'm not sure about the power outlets for the laptops using crowd

I live in Virginia and I am a coffee addict. This is my go to coffee roaster. Excellent beans and very prompt delivery.

I'm not a big coffee drinker, but was recommended to go to this place for both the atmosphere and the drinks. I was told their hot chocolate was delicious so I had one of those. Well let me tell you, that stuff is MAGNIFICENT! As if Zeus himself had poured a cup of ambrosia and served it to me. The coffee smells in this place took my nose on a tour around the world, all from the comforts of one amazing café. While I was only in Philly for a conference, I'm considering moving there for the people..... and Old City Coffee!
