The Dragonfly Coffee House

Our favorite Portland cafe by far. Delicious coffee and teas (don’t miss the Dragonfly elixir). GF and vegan options along with snacks and decadent pastries. Funky interior that is usually packed with regulars. The walk-up window and outdoor seating make the cafe super accessible.

This is one of my favorite coffee shops in Portland. They have the cozy vibe going, with an eclectic mix of tables and chairs, and a devoted set of regulars. The staff are so kind and patient, and they carry my favorite milk alternative, hemp milk. This would all be enough for me to stop by regularly, but then they have simply delicious baked goods, which run heavy in oats, which I happen to like. I've grown fond of (read: obsessed with) their energy bar (cranberries, raisins, chocolate chips, oats, etc) and when that ran out I tried their very good runner-up, the date bar (dates, oats, etc), where the dates have almost caramelized so it's really like a date-caramel-oat bar. They also have cookies, bottled drinks of all kinds, and I think they have savory things but I'm never paying much attention them! A great place to hang out for a while with outlets scattered all over and people reading, writing, tapping away at laptops, and having study sessions at a large central wooden table.

I would give this place five stars because I just love the vibe and the staff ...but the Chai Latte I got here was undrinkable. I don't know what they put into it but it had a really weird, unpleasant flavor. I make chai at home all the time so I can't imagine what they did wrong here. Their espresso is good though and their drip coffee is a bit weak but tasty.

Good coffee, prompt service, clean bathroom, plenty outlets, GF pastries and I felt welcome to sit and gaze out of the corner glass windows and watch the rain fall for too long. I’d return.

Coffee was absolute fire! I got a coffee brew with oat milk and an iced latte and the baristas delivered 100%.

I'm a simple girl. I like simple things. And while my drink order may be a simple cold brew coffee with nothing in it - my experience every morning is nothing short of extraordinary. Not only are Erin and Lucy absolute gems, but the environment is warm, fun, and inviting. It feels like family. Honestly, you may as well be playing the Cheers theme song every morning when I walk in that door. It's the best way to start my day.

Dragonfly is my favorite coffee shop. The staff are so nice and friendly, and the drinks are great! Erin (boss lady) is a uniquely pleasant person to chat with in the morning. I usually go a few times a week to get a drip coffee or a (spicy) chai latte, and some food from the case. It is one of my favorite little rituals, and I feel so lucky to have a warm cozy local shop like this to visit. I have brought friends to this shop specifically for the chai tea, especially during the cold weather.

Epic.
In one visit, quickly becomes my number 1 coffee shop in West Portland.

Exactly the atmosphere/decor a coffee house should be. In the end, it comes down to the roaster and brew.

Found this coffee house 3 years ago randomly on a road trip when I was searching for a different cafe recommended to me...needless to say, I never found the other cafe because Dragonfly stole my heart ♡ now I live a mile away and am so thankful to get to consume the BEST CHAI EVER quite frequently! The vibe is great, it is warm in winter, their is plenty of natural lighting along with homey indoor lights that don't bother sensitive eyes, beautiful paintings, inspirational quotes, honor system drip coffee with exact change as well as a community give and take "library"....the vibe is one of relaxation, focus and also social. Such a beautiful place ♡ seating is awesome with many different options. One long "study table" & also a bar with stools. There are 2 "living room style" seating areas and multiple "just for 2" seating areas. The staff is always friendly, their pastries are baked in house and delicious, they have a couple vegan items in their selection of food, alternative milks and they're willing to heat your food up by toaster oven if you dislike microwaves ♡ seriously I feel in love with this place and will always come back here, this is THE SPOT!
