My biggest pet peeve are stores that don't have prices on anything. Just think if you went into Best Buy, REI or a grocery store and nothing had prices. Usually the main reason they don't is cause they don't want you to see how expensive everything is...so I don't think I'll ever come back here as I don't want to support a business that "scams" or "tricks" customers. Which is a shame cause the coffee is good and service is great. Oh and another thing I don't like is they don't take cash. WTH?!
Update: Live music started while I was sitting there and it was amazing so I changed my 1 star review to 2 stars.

Friendly staff, great food and coffee!
Visited for the first time from outside of US, but this won’t be my last visit here.

This is the best coffee shop in existence. And I'm saying this completely objectivity, it's a scientific fact. I honestly could see it being named a unicef world heritage site for it's cultural significance. Seriously, everything about this place is heaven especially during these trying (covid/trump) times. I used to like to sit and do my homework here, lots of space and comfy chairs. Now, I pop in for a quick coffee and bagel. They have appropriate social distancing precautions in place. The staff is the best, always friendly and welcoming. Oh, and the coffee they brew is perfect, I like their floribunda... Nice medium roast. My only complaint is, if I buy their beans, I won't have a reason to visit the shop and the lovely staff! First world problems! In conclusion: Best. Coffee. Shop. Ever.

Love this spot 💕 spacious, lots of light, kind & friendly staff… the Rose City Matcha is dreamy. Yummy breakfast sandwiches with options for vegetarian. And you can often stumble upon great live music here on the weekends!

When I stopped into Rose City Coffee, I was actually just there to find a plant. Little did I know I would find my new favorite coffee spot! First, the space itself has a great vibe. Spacious, but cozy with pretty antique furniture pieces and picnic bench tables outside. There are cute little gift items throughout the store, including... plants. When I went up to the counter to ask about the plant supplies, the staff were incredibly kind and helpful and completely unpretentious (not always the case in some Portland Coffee shops)! I found a little plant and decided to grab a coffee while I was there. I ordered the Rose City Latte (a rose flavored latte), I don't normally order foofy flavored drinks but was feeling sassy. Upon first sip, I was shocked by the sweet, floral perfection in cup. I am officially in love with this drink and with the coffee shop. What a wonderful surprise to stumble upon!

Love finding small coffee shops and this one is awesome. Tried the Purple Haze. Yummy. I will be back 🌺

Had a beautiful time at this spot. The coffee is great, and they don't skimp on bagel toppings. You truly get some bang for your buck. The staff is kind, and the place is very clean. There was literally a person sweeping, and wiping tables the whole time. I went with someone who's not into the coffee scene, they didn't rush her to make a choice, and were very knowledgeable about the menu items. This was the second time I've been, I loved ever second being there.

Came here last February and still think about the cafe! Very friendly staff, wonderful selection of different roasts, and a zero waste option to take home beans, which is immensely appreciated. (ofc unsure if its still an option during the pandemic).
The coffee itself tasted wonderful and the latte art was also appreciated.
We also had some bagel sandwiches from their selection and the spicy ones were actually spicy! (& fresh)
I lived in Portland for 22 years and I'm sad I only discovered this gem on a visit back home, but I highly recommend it.

Love their coffee and breakfast sandwiches. Plus the coffee's delicious, the service is warm, the picnic tables outside have been helpful during Covid as a place to sit safely, and there is inspiration from so many local craftspeople and artists in the items for display and sale. Will be a regular whenever in Portland!

Love this place. They were so nice to my kids and the atmosphere is really chill. Coffee is great as I had a mocha that was delicious. Great space for studying, doing a puzzle or a board game on a rainy day. High ceilings and exposed brick walls complete the ambiance.
