Good place, just don't order iced drinks here. Been other times and got hot and it was much better, this time ordered an iced green tea latte and it was slightly milky water with the faintest hint of green tea. Not great. Go with something hot.

some of the best coffee I've had in Portland it's very cute and quaint inside there are lots of vegan pastries and sandwiches/burritos & the barista is always fast & friendly also they have lots of fun creative seasonal drinks

Cozy and quiet place with an eclectic menu. Difficult to find parking, so park a couple of blocks away.

I feel I'm being generous giving this place 3 stars. The beverages are okay, medium octane; tasty enough where I would come back if the guy I see every time wasn't so rude and averse to making you feel welcome. If you're super busy I understand, but if I'm your only customer and you feel it's okay to snatch my card out of my hand before I properly present it to you.. well.. I'm not impressed. Plenty of other places to go within walking distance who will treat you like a friend.

Been a vegetarian for over 2 yrs never been to a all vegan/vegetarian place before and i’m so happy this was my first experience! the sandwich’s were amazing and the coffee was so good! i ordered a bagel with eggs, vegan sausage, hasbtowns, and cheese. I loved it! Next time i’m down in portland i will 100% go to this place again

We order two breakfast burritos and coffee from here almost every weekend. There’s usually only one person working so it takes a bit, but it’s worth the wait. Their vegan and vegetarian breakfast burritos are great, and super filling. The interior has fun decor.

There are a lot of reasons to avoid going to Flying Cat. There’s no ventilation inside, so it constantly smells like smoke. The coffee is terrible, especially in context of the many other places to get good coffee nearby. Even worse is the slow and biased service.

For example, one time I came to pick up an order for my partner which was made over Doordash after waiting for a coffee and food for 20 minutes, realizing he had not started the order with literally no one in the shop. My partner had to come back, 20 minutes later, in which the owner apologized thinking I was a Doordash driver and he would have served it more promptly had he known I was picking up for myself. Another time I placed an order online in which he also had not touched the order for 30 minutes because it came in online, in which I asked to cancel when I walked over, and he instead decided to start making the order on time. I get why one might hate the online delivery companies, but at least provide better incentive that leads to a positive experience, or don’t accept orders online, period. And despite all of that, it’s always slow even if you call on the phone, unless you want to order in person and stick it out in this awful smoke filled space.

Sadly, the food is actually pretty good, along with the smoothies. But there are plenty of other places on Division and elsewhere for food, and better smoothies on Hawthorne and Division. If you find you’re starving, go for it, but I highly suggest looking elsewhere. I’ve given this place many, many shots, and wish something better would take over the space.

Hands down the best coffee shop in Portland. Amazing quality coffee, some of the best food(and even better vegan options, literally the best vegan breakfast burrito in town). Jeremy is absolutely outstanding and runs the whole shop by himself 7 days a week. Every time I go it's an even better experience. I purposely pass 3 coffee shops just to get to his place even though I really need my wake up drink.

This place is a true Portland charmer that embodies the essence of what Portland was before all the development.

So, if you are needing amazing coffee with a delicious pastry or breakfast, do not hesitate to become a regular here. I wish I could write more than one review for Jeremy, he does such an amazing job.

It's a nice cozy, neighborhood kind of coffeeshop. The almond milk latte wasn't great, it was steamed too long/hot. But the barista was very kind, and I would come back.
