Ordered a drip coffee, literally tastes like hot water, without any coffee. nice ambiance, friendly service.

So my husband and I stopped in here for coffee. There were a few people in line ahead of me and only one girl working behind the counter. She was trying to make food and also coffee for folks. Anyway I finally got to order and then we waited probably at least 20 minutes for our coffee. At that point she had gotten the order wrong. She forgot that it was a decaf latte with soy. She also gave me a 12 oz instead of a 16 oz that I ordered. At that point I just wanted the coffee so I didn't say anything. The girl behind the counter was super nice just needed help. And she should really write down her orders so she gets them straight. I love the venue but the service was just not good.

I've spent many a morning at Fairlane Coffee, and although it's not a bad spot, and the coffee is good, it has never been on my list of favorite places to start my day. Like I said, I like the coffee, and the baked goods are good, but the ambience is lacking in my opinion. It'a nice enough building, but feels a little stark, it just doesn't have that cozy feel that I prefer. There aren't many seating options other than hard chairs, either at the window bar, the regular tables, or the big table in the center of the room. And while there are a couple of cool baristas, there are also a couple who seem just a little too cool in their own minds if you get what I mean. And to me, unless the coffee and eats in a place are either amazingly good, or spectacularly awful, then the ambience and the attitude of the staff are the things that are going to make me want to either come back or decide to go elsewhere.

So that's where I'm at with it. I give it 4 stars, it's not a bad place but it's not gonna be a favorite for me either.

Great, friendly service with fast WiFi and seating inside. This felt roomy - not cramped between tables.

Ordered a toast with ricotta, almonds, and a berry compote for $5.95 and I was pleasantly surprised with the amount of bread and toppings that came with it. I was nervous it would not be enough to warrant $6 but it was a thick slice with plenty of toppings.

They didn’t have a chai tea non-latte, only premade with milk. Other than that, I loved it!

Fairlane has recently become my go-to spot.

This place is the full package- great social distancing set up (and cute seating when it is allowed), friendly baristas whose skill is unparalleled, a good selection of tasty baked goods for a variety of dietary restrictions, and just yesterday I opened up my first bag of their own coffee beans- a very light and fruity Ethiopian.

First time I went there and am disappointed I asked for the macchiato and paid $4 for 8oz cup that was 1/4 full I thought it was like a sample or something and was tasteless I asked them to make it extra sweet but it was bitter and bitter

Perfectly nice place, people. Good if you prefer oat milk to half n half in your coffee. Two drinks for $10 approximately. Popular. The spider plants desperately need their "babies" to find earth or be removed, the main plants are in obvious distress. Some of the philodendrons also have lost most of their leaves, need to hire a green thumb person to work the place! Just an atmospheric note from someone who cares about plants ;-)

They used to have an amazing salmon toast, but stopped serving it. Only their food is available on Postmates, no drinks.

The best coffee I've had in Portland. Other than Sierra (sp?) the employees leave a lot to be desired.
Whatever the blend is they serve I swear to you it's like magic..just wished they cared about who they hired more.

Best chai lattes at Fairlane Coffee!! Great and friendly service during every visit, and Fairlane is in a great location in Sellwood near several other restaurants my husband, kids, and I like to go to. I had a minor issue with being overcharged a couple times with my personal cup, and when providing feedback regarding this issue I was given such great and friendly customer service from Management that made me even happier that I’m a loyal customer to one of our local coffee shops in town! I definitely recommend the chai latte and pastries if you plan on making a visit to Fairlane Coffee in Sellwood, OR!
