Minority-owned small business...love it! The coffee is great...aromatic and smooth. The owner is really nice, and the staff is always friendly. The vibe is modern streampunk style, and the vibe is casual and comfortable.

Normally the coffee is pretty good so that's why I'm giving 2 stars instead of 1, but this morning my bf and I ordered oat milk since we have dairy allergies and we definitely both got whole dairy milk instead. I clearly said oat milk twice when I ordered...I had to dump mine out. :(

An awesome coffee shop and place to work! The food is delicious, coffee is tasty, and they have WiFi available. Everything is very fairly priced too.

Came into unfriendly, not-attentive/ignoring/distracted staff, ordered a bagel & when I got to work, & pulled it out of the bag it was STALE & MOLDY on the bottom! Glad I noticed before I took a bite... Now remembering that last week ordered a bagel & it also was very stale. Doesn't seem like a "one time" issue. Serving old food is very unprofessional

This is the best coffee shop in walking distance of my office & boy am I grateful! The staff here are wonderful. The chai is maybe a little sweet for me, but nice and strong. Bagels are from Spielman's (one of my top two local favorites) and pastries are from Bake Shop.

Delicious pastries, yummy coffee, artsy lattes! Great way to start my morning.

I am not a coffee shop customer typically. Until I started working a block away from 40 LBS, I probably bought five lattes a year. Now it is a weekly habit at least. Super nice people, excellent coffee, quick service and several non-dairy milk options that I drink with their spicy cocoa syrup. OMG yum!

I've been consistently impressed by the perfect execution of every latté I've enjoyed from this stylish little café. The aesthetics, from the excellent lighting to the McIntosh receiver proudly displayed above the bar, speak to unpretentious refinement. It's not a quaint, cozy neighborhood coffee shop, so those seeking such things may not enjoy it so much. 40 LBS is for those of us who like things done at a higher level.
Update-dropping down to 3 stars because the service is slow. I've just waited 15 minutes (and counting) for a latte!

Great coffee bar that also offers nitro cold brew and nitro chai tea! The coffee is from Stumptown Roasters, so you know it's amazing. And they have plenty of pastries, including gluten free options. The cafe itself is laptop and study friendly with plenty of tables and spots to sit. If you love pour over coffee, then definitely give this place a look because there are several coffees to choose from. The place starts to get crowded around brunch, so if you want a table come here early to avoid the crowd. A+

Espresso was rich and flavorful. I tried the cardamom and my mo had the vanilla. My daughter had a hot chocolate and said it was perfect (not overly sweet). Only drawback was no stevia.
