One of the best coffee houses in town! Service is great, coffee is excellent and atmosphere is dope.

Great customer service! Offers many coffee and tea options. Currently they are also serving up different on tap options~Chai on Nitro, and coffee. I love that they are serving Smith Tea too. You always have the usual suspects of the coffee beverage world. This spot is busy, modern and warm all at the same time. I loved my working visit.

A lovely place to sit and grab a coffee or get one to go. They have the best Americanos I’ve gotten anywhere as well as delicious pastries. On top of all that, kind baristas. Highly recommend.

Solid coffee (Stumptown) with the widest range of cold brew options I have seen in Portland: four roast options for Kyoto style cold brews, plus nitro available. Cool aesthetic, friendly staff. Can't rate the baked goods, but they looked pretty good.

I want to give this place a better review. The staff is friendly, prices are reasonable, it's comfortable to hang out in and the things to eat are pretty good. I can't give it higher ratings because it's brewed coffee is regularly meh. I think another three-star reviewer said the coffee was thin, that sounds accurate. Some of the world likes good coffee and couldn't care less about espresso drinks. If a coffee place sells coffee made from freshly roasted high-end beans and sells brewed coffee for $3+ per cup--this place does that--and yet can't make good brewed coffee then they are letting something go. All places have some off days, and sometimes it's the beans, but I've given this place many, many chances and it's too hit or miss to patronize in a city like Portland where one can walk three blocks and get a stellar cup of coffee. Maybe use a little more per batch or check temperature on the brewer.

My wife and I stopped in here for some morning coffee and tea. I got the seasonal silent night tea and my wife got the drip coffee. Great service, nice dishes, good tasting drinks, clean restrooms. We also enjoyed the baked goods. I got a ginger pear muffin and my wife got ginger molasses cookie. Perfect way to start our day.

Because of my work, I travel a lot and find myself in many Coffee Shops. This is a great little spot with even better coffee. The vibe is sort of a that of a swiss chalet rather than a hipster Portland Coffee bar. If you are looking for a great cup of coffee and a place to relax for a bit I highly recommend 40LBS.
