Service was genuinely friendly and accommodating at this cool little spot. Mocha was nice and chocolately, hot and served in a ceramic mug, but had a sour edge to it – either the decaf espresso had gone off or I just don’t like Stumptown espresso, not sure which. Not wanting to waste the drink, I didn’t mention it to the barista, as I felt sure he’d insist on making another. I’ll give 40LBS another shot next time I’m in town. I genuinely enjoyed passing a few minutes in their stylishly hip space watching the busy world glide by.

I love that more third wave coffee shops are popping up in this area of southwest! This spot had a fun machinery style theme and nice, bright windows. They had a large variety of baked goods and an additional food menu. There’s an outdoor bench perfect for taking advantage of sunny days.

The staff is amazing. Super cute and clean inside. I love their lemon drops. They are the best.

I asked questions about their decaf and the owner was incredibly insightful. Many places butcher decaf coffee but this place knows how to make an exceptional cup.

I've always been under the impression that there are two types of people in this world: coffee shop people and bar people. 40lbs combines both with a sense of style and elegance that is truly unmatched. Whether you're looking to grab a quick in-house made to-order sando (that's what they're called, I'm not trying to be hip), sip a handcrafted latte, or drink wine solo after being dismissed early from jury duty (me!)... you'll find a comfortable seat here. The staff is delightful and if I lived closer by, I'd definitely have a punch card.

Iced matcha latte + Ethiopian cold brew. Both were very well made and of high quality. The cold brew was rich with full flavor. The matcha latte was made with real matcha and full of flavor.

The coffee was perfect and the barista was able to make something for me even though im not a huge fan of coffee. Super nice staff.

Atmosphere: laid-back with a few long tables indoor+plenty outdoor tables; very roomy and spacious inside
Coffee: they brew Coava coffee here, and the drip today was a great cup of light/med roast with a great fruity/floral profile!
Food: Banh-mi was good and lots of food options! Great for a lunch+hangout
