Place smelled good, looked good, I gave this place 2 trys and the second time we waited..and waited...and waited. Noticed a guy that wasn't served when we first walked in still hadn't been served when we left without getting any orders taken. Wouldn't recommend

Best eggs Benedict we've ever had. Baked items were great too. We went there two days in a row. It is small so get there before they open if you want a table right away.

Chef was great, and the food was super good. I hope this chef gets an offer somewhere where he isn’t belittled by belligerent staff. The absolute incompetence and rudeness of the waiters and cashier was so unprofessional, and the fact that she barked back at a customer who came in looking for her order was appalling. Our drinks were also worth their weight in gold with them selling a small orange juice which is 8 ounces for 5 dollars and still only filling it up to 4. And we then had to fight with this rude staff member for a very rightly deserved refund. I would absolutely never go back here again despite the food simply due to the awful people pretending to work there as they do practically nothing while snapping at costumers and the chef while they cut fruit and snarl.

Best breakfast in Newport. For a small town Newport has some real gems to choose from for dinning out and La Maison is one of them. Home made english muffins and exceptional ham make the eggs bene really special, the french toast is of course made with their bread, and the pastries are amazing. Highly recommend. It’s very small so…not great for larger groups but perfect for 2-4 people, anticipate a wait for a table during prime breakfast or weekend brunch hours but the service is snappy.

Delicious pastries and well executed French style omelets. Unfortunately the coffee was sour, the artichokes tasted very heavily of citric acid and the English muffins were toasted so hard that they required a steak knife to cut.

What an absolute gem! I would have ordered every item on the menu if our trip would have had us in town long enough to go back every morning. I cannot say enough good things about the food and this place in general. The service is outstanding. The young lady who works the counter also takes your order at the table. They don't come any more pleasant and relaxed, she's a natural. The food takes a little time but they tell you that on the menu. It was just one gentleman working in the front and one in the back. We were too busy enjoying the atmosphere to even care. It was not an incredibly long wait, but had it been, it still would have been worth it. We engaged in conversations with the folks at a couple of the tables around us. Everyone gets a bit giddy when it comes to the great options in the pastry case. La Maison also serve dinners three nights a week and those are fantastic options as well. All in all, the pastries are picture perfect, the cakes a work of art, the eggs, oh my, and that loaf of olive and rosemary had us smiling when we had it the next night with dinner. This is truly a place not to be missed!!!

Awful. I have had bad service here in the past but this morning was the final straw. The lady at the counter, who said she was the owner, (I'm sure she isn't the owner because she did not know how to use a card reader) charged my card for $18.50 for 3 pastries. She then told me my transaction was declined. The $18.50 just posted to my account. I now have to make a trip to the bank, pay $5 for a bank statement to show her, and get my money back. She wanted me to pay twice once she saw cash in my wallet. Businesses in Newport need to stop treating locals like this. All over 3 pastries. I'm so mad.

Always such a lovely breakfast spot! I’ve been trying to find my favorite thing on the menu - and I think it’s the Crepes with the artichoke sauce on top. I got mushroom instead of ham inside, and it was such an amazing savory treat! Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting a lovely breakfast or brunch.

I’m surprised that I haven’t breakfasted here before now. As you’d anticipate, the food is heavenly, the staff are wonderfully friendly, and the environment is perfectly French.

We enjoyed an omelet with mushroom and artichokes, a eggs Benedict over a full-sized homemade biscuit, and crepes with lemony artichokes. We also shared a breakfast eclair filled with cream and banana.

You cannot go wrong here. Prepare for perfection!
