I've been going to The GoodBean in Jacksonville pretty regularly for the past few years, usually at least a couple times each month. The service and quality has always been exceptional and the knowledgeable, experienced, and friendly staff has always set this particular coffee shop apart from the many other options in both Jacksonville and the general area. Recently however it seems that there has been a large layoff or turnover in this particular location's staff, and sadly the result is incredibly poor service and quality of product. In the 3 times I've visited in the last two weeks I've waiting in excess of 20 minutes for my lattes, and this morning my breakfast sandwich took over 35 minutes. Naturally a wait is always expected because of how busy this particular location is, but even given that such long ticket times are pretty unacceptable. The attitude and service of the cashiers are always friendly and sociable, but as someone who has worked in many kitchens and coffee shops myself, I see clear signs of negligence and apathy from the current baristas and "cooks". The quality of espresso drinks has incredibly diminished, and in my opinions is sadly becoming on par with your typical drive-through coffee kiosk. I am sad to say that I find myself questioning the likelihood of returning in the near future, which is quite a shame given that I've always looked forward to seeing my favorite baristas. I hope that the management/ownership of this location will take action to provide more training for their staff, and/or bring back the wonderful employees that made this particular location such a pillar of the Jacksonville community.

Also, as a friendly suggestion... please return the creamer/sugar station back to where it was before, by the door. Having it by the service counter has been congesting the pickup window and people have to squeeze through the service line, tables/chairs, or whatever in order to get to outside seating or leave. It was much better the way it was before, in my opinion.

Great coffee! Many choices, from hemp milk to coconut milk, and many syrup flavors without being ridiculous. Excellent breakfast options. They worked with my sister, who is vegan, creating a custom breakfast for her. They weren't angry and didn't give her any attitude - they worked with her and it was awesome.

Had coffee with a good friend I haven't seen in ages. We've known eachother since junior high. I love Jacksonville. Love the small town, slower pace to life these people live. You can feel that here and even in this little coffee shop you feel everyone knows eachother. It's nostalgic. But it should just be the norm. Great place for a great cup of coffee surround by great people in a great atmosphere.

Employees were very pleasant and patient while we decided on our drinks. We didn't have to wait long for our drinks while my kids played a round of chess. Everyone's drink was very good. A relaxing atmosphere. Definitely would recommend it.

I love the Good Bean. The people behind the counter are always nice and friendly. People chatting, cool music playing over the airwaves. A environment to get some writing done. Today I had the Good Bean Scream - half drip half mocha. It's strong and delicious!

Atmosphere is awesome! If i was back in school and needed a place to study, this would definitely be the spot! However, since I'm not, then this will be my go to place to get work done or just simply read a book. Service is great and they have alot of fresh local gluten-free food too. Plenty of seating and not noisy at all; love this place!

Delicious breakfast sandwich made on a fresh, soft bagel. A good selection of bagels and coffee drinks. Lots of seating and hang out room. Tables with painted on checkers and backgammon boards suggest a cool place to spend some leisure time. All this in the quaint, historic town of Jacksonville.

Great place an atmosphere. Coffee is on point, my favorite and food is great. Pastries always a win! You can't lose unless you get there after they sell out of cinnamon rolls!

EXCELLENT COFFEE!!!

We always visit GoodBean after a run at the Britt Gardens. The coffee is fantastic, we not only stop by here for a coffee on the fly, but pickup beans for at home.

The atmosphere is warm and welcoming with quick and friendly service. Lots to eat here as well.

Could their prices get any higher. They need competition . There's good coffee to be found thru out the town at less gouging prices, $2 for a half sized cookie, almost $6 for a medium sized coffee drink, ect. You don't even have the great art you used to. And most of it is self serve and self bus. The historical and beautiful position in the town is coming at a high and snobby premium.
