Friendly service, great menu selection, delicous food, good coffee. We had the hot and bothered and it's super good. The nitro cold brew coffee is really good too. We had an oatmeal raisin walnut cookie and it was tasty.
Plenty of outlets for laptop users.
Great views.

I rarely write reviews, but the wait time and customer service here were awful. It took an hour to get five sandwiches and a side salad. We visited at 2:30pm on a Monday (not busy at all). There were several people behind the counter who were all moving very slowly. I heard at least three other customers complain about receiving the wrong order, missing items, or waiting for their food. One customer even cancelled their order out of frustration.
Please save your time + money, there are far better options within walking distance.

Excellent meal...excellent customer service. We came in after a long drive, arriving just minutes before they closed for the day. As they pulled things back out of the coolers, not once did they act put out that we were last-minute orders and we felt welcome to stay. The sandwiches were excellent, pastrami cooked well, custom order for my turkey melt sandwich was flawless. The bread...wow...the bread was so good I wanted more. I will be back to try their sourdough waffles as the prep cook and I were comparing notes on waffles throughout the northwest, and she agreed with many of my favorites but did say "I've got one that rivals the best we discussed..." Can't wait!

Unique sandwich shop that also serves breakfast and appears to turn into a sorda bar in the evenings. Customer service was excellent. Trust the suggestions of the staff!!

Cute little cafe that is clean, but the mask wearing is spotty. I don't think the covid got the word to not go into rural areas. The food was good. We got our order to go and it came fairly quickly.

This place is a gem that truly needs to highlight their best trait. A wise person once said that to be successful you just have to do one thing really well, and in the case of River Daze Cafe it's their breads. I had a breakfast sandwich on a housemade English muffin, my oldest daughter had a turkey sandwich on French, and my younger daughter had a bagel. All three were magnificent! Super tasty, well made, quality ingredients, but the star for all three orders were the breads all made in-house. Really superb meal. Now if I had just remembered the butternut squash soup-of-the-day that I'm sure was equally spectacular, that I paid for but then forgot to inquire about when it didn't arrive with the sandwiches that had me mesmerized... Doh! 🤦♂️
Gives me a reason to go back next time I'm going through Hood River. 😊

I stopped in here for some coffee and breakfast on a short road trip. The coffee was good and the staff were able to accommodate my keto lifestyle. I had a delicious breakfast "sandwich" over a bed of fresh greens. They even have me a refill on my coffee for the road. Highly recommend you stop in if your in the area.

One of the best restaurants in the Gorge. We live locally and try to stop by every time we’re in the area.

Editing this to add that I’m disappointed with our most recent experience at River Daze.
The girls working today (July 4th) were definitely not properly trained in food handling procedures. I watched one of the girls (wearing yellow/green, the one who took my order that ended up being incorrect) wipe her bare hands on her pants before going back to handling food.
There is definitely a ton of cross contamination when you order gluten free.
I love their food but this recent experience was very disappointing. We will definitely be back but I hope the owner can improve things with this review. We absolutely love and support River Daze and always tip well- but an accurate order and one safe for my s/o with celiacs is very important to us.

Taste: 4/10. Soup was pretty good.
Customer service: 2/10 do the least they can to get by.
Price to food ratio: paid 50 bucks to tickle the stomach. Possible exuberant prices due to small town but I saw more reasonable prices around. honestly the price for the experience was a let down.
Had takeout, they forgot part of the order and only placed half the silverware in.
Friends bought some sandwiches and soup. I got some salad. 8 dollar salad was smaller than a side.... But good thing I didn't. Crunched down on a metal tie???? Back of throat still irritated because it stabbed me. Maybe they thought I was anemic looking and needed a little extra iron but probably not the right way to go about it.
Also YOU WILL NOT GET A PRICE RUNDOWN on the receipt. Just FYI. They just don't do them. Because idk weird place. Not a place I'd recommend. Best to starve a little after a hike

Fresh eats with great pickled add ons! Gluten free bread was fantastic
