Egg River Cafe ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
On 5/18/22, I had breakfast at Egg River Cafe in Hood River, Oregon. They serve breakfast and lunch. It is my favorite Hood River spot for breakfast. I think it’s much better than Bette’s Place, which is another local favorite. In addition to having great Eggs Benedict ($13.95), I appreciated that they gave me cream for my coffee ($3.50) at no extra charge. And the service is always excellent. My server, Laura, was very warm and friendly. So was the nice young woman who accommodated my request for a booth with a window. I can’t say enough good things about this restaurant, the food, and the people who work there.
Highly Recommended!!!

My wife and I stopped in for breakfast on our way home from Cascade Locks. We could tell by how busy this restaurant was, that it had to be good. It's not good... it's great! Vast menu options from classic American breakfast to some Latin American dishes and everything in-between. They have a full bar option too and the cocktail list looked very well thought-out. We just had coffee as we were traveling but next (definitely going to be a next time) I'll try one of their drinks. Food is very well prepared and the staff was efficient and attentive.

Absolutely delicious food. The white gravy had a lovely peppery flavor. Omelettes had just the right amount of cheese- not too overwhelming. Veggies in the omelettes were fresh and flavorful.

My son and I stopped by this restaurant during a road trip and we are so glad we did! The service was amazing. The atmosphere was fun and welcoming. The space was clean and orderly. The food was beyond anything I expected. BEST ground beef patty I’ve had from any restaurant. My son really enjoyed his eggs Benedict. I recommend this place to everyone! Can’t wait to go back. :)

When ordering from new places, I usually like trying their corned beef hash. Egg River Cafe offers short rib hash. I decided to try it out instead of the corned beef... I'm so glad I did, it was incredible and hearty. So many other great dishes I'd like to try on the next visit.
Knowledgeable and friendly staff, great service and prompt. I will be back soon.

We had a great experience here. Service was exceptional and the food was pretty good. I thought it was a little on the bland side but I was happy with the quality of the ingredients and they had a great selection of sauces. It’s mostly booths for seating; also coffee was perfect and the parking was effortless.

Straight to the point; food is good, service was not. It took four tries and 25 minutes to get our coffee/chai drinks order correct. I highly recommend the farmers skillet though! Just be prepared for some slow service. I’ll still go back again, maybe training and notepads for the staff?

This place feels like home. A very busy home where people are willing to wait, willing to take the next seat or booth ready just because the food and options are so great.
A good breakfast place is tough to find in my opinion. Either it’s a greasy spoon diner, or a overly fancy place that takes away from the quality or ingredients that people crave. Egg River cafe not only has an incredibly large and diverse menu, but they offer everything from the basics to the most sophisticated options. I am simple, I can go for a Egg or two, some bacon and a cup of coffee and be content. My wife, she prefers the Eggs Benedict, add spinach and tomato. Bring the hot sauce and we are both happy.
Next time, I am definitely getting a skillet or the fried chicken and waffles
It’s busy, be patient, they also serve good sized portions, bring some home…don’t waste.

Huge menu, Average food, Absent minded service.
It took the staff 20+ minutes to come get our orders (this is after waiting for 30 mins to get a table). We left feeling full but not deliciously so. The food was decent but nothing great - Soggy waffles, strawberry jam instead of fresh fruit, a flat mocha, occasionally bitter hash browns?. They even got the order wrong and brought eggs Benedict for my vegan friend (this is after writing it down). They promptly replaced it with her original order and then forgot her side order and then brought that too. It’s just too many mistakes for a hangover breakfast.

So delicious! Great coffee. Service was wonderful despite how incredibly busy it was. Popular spot for a reason!! If you're going on a weekend, be patient. It's worth it! Pictured below is the huevos rancheros with house potatoes; eggs ordered scrambled. House potatoes are amazing! I ate everything (besides licking the plate).
