First Chapter Coffee House

Coffee was delicious! Wide variety of flavorings to go in the coffee. And the barista was very friendly and helpful. If you’re looking for food, it’s premade, ready to be heated up, but still delicious.

Coffee Heaven at Gold Beach

Wish i could give this place 10 stars!

Location:
A little coffee bar/shoppe just a few quick minutes drive off the main town road. It is nestled inside the brand new modern Curry County library building. Park in the library parking lot!

Atmosphere:
This new spacious, light filled modern building greatly appeals to me! Really set the tone for my cafe experience. I felt uplifted and soothed. Which is what i want on a break honestly. This is no crowed hectic little noisy cafe. Building itself seems wheelchair accessable Omg ! Plussss.

Parking:
Also A wow - Plently of easy parking out front. Several Accessible spaces!

The Cafe:
A clean and inviting compact, streamlined coffee bar! Offering Traditional pulls as well as an assortment of super creative yummy mixed drinks and teas. There are fruit and snall snacks avail too.maybe more. I was focused only on coffee! 😀

Product Quality:
Barista nailed it with perfect ( for me) espresso ! Also enthusiastically made me a drink - that was new for him! Just So you know - I like a strong
More traditionalish pul. ( not a fan of Starbuck style or watered down pulls nor do i like pretentious 1 tsp shots)

This was just right -strong, short w/ nice crema and all. Quality/dense foam
When ordering mixed drinks. Beautiful coffee art too! Gosh the care & details . Swooning. No sweet/fruity roasts. They do italian style here. Wow. One sip turned me into an instant fan!!!! I returned devotedly here- during my month long trip in town. It became the highlight of my day. They offered consistency in product too! Its like the unicorn of coffee places. Personally i think this is the best coffee on the southern oregon/nor cal coast & beyond.

Customer service:
Talented and entertaining and sincerely warm - Bartholomew hands down offered Superior customer service! I had repeatedly kind utterly delightful interactions with him all month long! ❤️ With other other ppl coffee was good- service Was fine, interaction certainly polite enough to get by but not amazing just like the experiences i have elsewhere. Basically Bartholomew shines here and his excellent ppl & coffee skills created my diehard return business.

Other Amenities:
Small variety of individual and group seating avail ( soft & hard) my mention of accessibility & seating is due to experiencing chronic injures/pain and having had disabilities in the past so i notice comfort level offered at places. It often sends me running! Here was great!

Spotlessly clean no code bathrooms- always avail i never waited ( and they Appear accessible!) also due to pain It it beyond uncomfortable to wait 2O min - just to use the loo and or search for codes/keys/ return them etc. ( after standing 20 min for coffee) which happens to me at 95 % of cafes I go to. Nice to just open a door, no waitiing

Basically this place offered me EVERYTHING i always seek in a cafe ( and more) but that most quirky funky tchotchke filled establishments or uber cool indie places -can NEVER seem to provide. Omg. most outstanding thoughtful business model. Also from what i understand it is a training program for community youth who have been at some disadvantage- to Give them hands on opportunity to learn business skills for independence. Yessss 👍

Beautiful selection of book! Reasonable prices. If you love the smell of books, and need a new adventure..this place is a rare beauty in a technological era! Make sure to go support this glorious place!

Absolutely the friendliest coffee shop in Curry County. Great, strong coffee,h excellent service youa make they feel like you belong. Make sure you visit the bookstore too.

This is definitely the best coffee in Gold Beach. We come from Portland and have been spoiled by the professional baristas, we have stopped in many communities to get coffe as we traveled the 101, and it has been hit or miss. The barista's technique was impeccable, and the customer service was far better than I have come to expect from the small coastal communities. The premise behind the shop is also really awesome; providing work experiences for young people that are disengaged. The shop is a little ways off the 101, but the library where it is located is amazing for such a small community! We will surely make this our go to spot for coffee anytime we are in Gold Beach!

Just had iced coffee. Staff was friendly and excellent at getting my order right. Nice atmosphere and clean environment. Definitely recommend.

Really friendly. The scones were more like a cookie biscuit hybrid. The service was great though and so was the coffee.

Walked into a library expecting to only find books & was pleasantly surprised by a coffee shop? What a world, the coffee tasted great & the service was excellent. These boys know what they're doing you won't be disappointed.

Great service, food and coffee! Be sure to ask about their hot food, like breakfast burrito, panini, etc. They have such an extensive drink menu that the hot food items did not fit on the menu boards. Wonderful baked goods, too that you can see in their case!! You’ve gotta try them! You’ll surely return! 😊
