My wife likes a banana cake with fudge icing. It’s an odd cake and tough to find. For the past four birthdays we’ve ordered the same cake and every year there are problems. The staff are always rude and I’ve yet to get a cake that didn’t have problems. One year they lost the order entirely an we had no cake on her birthday. I’m born and raised in this town and I try to support the local businesses as much as I can.. so against my better judgment each year I give Anne’s my business. This year I went to pickup the cake and it was only a single layer. I spoke to the rude lady behind the counter about the cake being wrong...she insisted that I ordered it that way and her only suggestion was to refund me and throw away the cake. Gee how nice of you.. two years on my wife’s birthday and no cake. I told her my family and I are never coming back. Thanks Anne’s for another birthday cake disaster.

I am giving 2 stars rather than one because previous visits had been great. Before the last encounter, it would have easily have been a 5 star review. Firstly, my daughter and I went to order a cake for her baby shower. We were running a bit close to closing time, but still plenty of time to place our order and make a few purchases. We had been delayed by an accident cleanup on 224, which I explained and apologized for. The woman was rude and did not even acknowledge our apology. I chalked it up to maybe she had somewhere pressing to be. Still, we were finished by closing time. She had forgotten to give me one of my items. I sent an email. The reply was that she did not charge me (it seemed like a bit much for what we bought) and that she had thought I had changed my mind. (I have no idea why.) She was just as rude in the email. Secondly, the cake order would be nothing like what we wanted and the largest round cake was an 6", so we would have had to have ordered two cakes, neither decorated anywhere near what we wanted. Grey stars instead of silver and royal blue instead of navy. (Navy is easy enough to mix.) My daughter had a phone call with someone and I had an email. A final price was never given.Since I actually do bake and know enough about fondant to make the cake myself, I just decided to do it on my own, even though I was making all the food. For the price of edible silver gilding powder ($5) and a small star cookie cutter ($2), we had the exact cake we wanted with the right colors. The whole thing has made me not want to return. If any of the interactions had been anything but rude, it might have been different.

Awesome baked goods. Went into the shop at 12pm and had to go back for more at 4:30! We tried everything and the goodies were all fabulous. The staff was as sweet at the baked goods. So happy and smiling and helpful. Live near Boston and can't wait for the next visit to Ohio to go back!

I was introduced to Ann's pastry shop back in 1972 when we moved from Toledo to wadsworth. They had the best glazed donuts that I always bought a couple extra to eat on the way home, so I could actually get home with the dozen I was supposed to buy!!

Loved going here when we lived in Wadsworth. We still make the drive occasionally (about an hour) just to get their cookies and cakes. So good!

Three times this month customers have come in with no masks, it is stated on the door that masks are required. When reaching out to the shop with concerns as to why customers not wearing masks are not asked to leave or put a mask on I was told “the safety of our customers is very important just use curbside then” in other words if you are uncomfortable that 6 people are in a 10x10 foot square at once and no one cares if you wear a mask or not, just don’t come back. I will take that advise 100%

Very friendly and amazing donuts. I was proud of myself for only getting one (blueberry, which I highly recommend) but I couldn't resist when my nephew offered to share one of his donut holes.

Independent stand alone bakery. Before grocery stores almost every town had at least one bakery. To make it in today's world and survive against the bake shops within the grocery store chains you've got to be good, if not great. Ann's is one of those bakeries that has made its mark on Wadsworth. Wedding cakes, cookies, brownies, bread, donuts and a variety of traditional foreign favorites as well as one of my favorite time savers (frozen pizza dough). Well worth the stop if your in town. Go early if you can or what you're looking for might be gone.

One business that's still as great as it was decades ago. Always a treat!
