This place is all presentation with no quality.
My family and I dropped in for a visit this morning to try it out. There's really no cafe like it in Somerset so I was definitely excited to try it.
We ordered French Toast with sausage, a cinnamon roll, a cinnamon twist (if it was called that, they couldn't tell me what it was called), and iced espresso and caramel frappe.
Let's start with the French toast, it was clearly from a bag of frozen French toast, probably from Walmart. The edges were dried out. It also came with one piece of sausage that also appeared to be for my bag frozen sausage. It was an additional $2 for that one tiny piece of sausage. The French toast was $7 for five pieces of french toast out of a frozen bag. Additionally, it came with syrup that was very low quality, I'm assuming the main ingredient was high fructose corn syrup. I wasn't expecting the holy grail of french toast, but for $9 I was definitely expecting more than what we were served.
As for the bakery items, they were dried out and clearly not fresh. They weren't terrible, but on par with grocery store bakery items and certainly not worth the price we paid.
Ask for the coffee drinks, they were just okay. I asked for an iced double shot with half and half, but apparently this coffee place does not serve half and half so they had to substitute for whole milk. The espresso was a little murky, with a little depth and some hints of fruity notes. It wasn't as robust as I like in espresso, but it certainly would do in a pinch.
My wife's caramel frappe was okay. Nothing special with the caramel sauce.
The service was interesting. I had to go back to ask for forks and I had to go back to ask for the other bakery item that we never received. They definitely have some ironing out to do there, but it could be because they just newly open.
We weren't really sure about the procedure, they have tables in the dining areas and a sign at the register says they will call you for your food, but they did end up bringing part of our order and the other part I had to go ask for. We didn't know what to do with our plates and trash, but we did spot a small dish band and trash can in the corner and we just took everything there.
I'm sure that could also be improved with signs and a clear process for their staff.
Our order was just over $25 plus tip. The price of the food far exceeds the quality. Because of that, I don't know that we would ever go back to even try other items.
While I would give them an A for presentation and atmosphere, so many of the other points deserve negative stars.

I ordered the Caramel Macchiato Cold Brew, Cappuccino, & 2 English muffin, Turkey Sausage & Gouda breakfast sandwiches. MY mom really loved the cold brew, the roast is mild and they put a generous serving of heavy cream & caramel in it. The milk in my Cappuccino was too hot and definitely burnt; It didn't have enough foam either, it was more like a latte. The girl working the bar seemed very young & this is usually a common mistake when you're learning to steam milk. The breakfast sandwiches were made as I ordered them; the egg was fresh & hot & the Gouda they use is really tasty.

Impromptu stop at this cute little coffee shop while waiting on a wrestling tournament. The coffee was amazing and the French toast breakfast was delicious. Such a cozy atmosphere and the staff was very nice. My son loved the fresh fruit cup I got for him for after his meet. We will definitely be back.

Sad to see someone who takes reviews so seriously bash a new and hospitable private business such as Java 13 as their first review. With that said, I had a Cafe Latte and it's the best one you can get any where close around here. Somerset should be proud to have such passionate, hard working owners and staff representing their community.

Cute small town coffee shop with a plethora of options for your coffee needs. It even has a little boutique upstairs.
