I love trying new coffee shops especially in the Cleveland area. Rising Star had a vast and inventive menu. I got the promised land iced latte and the Star Tea for later. Both were amazing and the staff is always super friendly!

Environment is cozy and there is plenty of seating. I like that lattes come on a little wooden tray with a seltzer palette cleanser. Promised Land latte did not taste quite right (all the flavor on the bottom) and service was ok; several people waited on their drinks before I ordered mine and they seemed to all get jumbled. A woman who was there at least 4 people before I was got her to-go drink the same time I did. Perhaps they were under-staffed, but with better efficiency I'd rate it higher.

Always nice to grab a cup of coffee to go or to sit and enjoy.

Tl;Dr: if you're looking for a fancypants cup of coffee, you won't be disappointed here.
I'm *that* guy who freelances from coffee shops (Sorry). I've got opinions on them all and choose where I'm working based on how I feel that day.
I like this one because it's relatively quiet and I can normally find a seat. Standard third wave coffee shop fare, good coffee but not a great selection of snacks and pastries. The pour overs can be a little inconsistent but never bad, just fine vs good vs great.
If you're looking to stay and work, there are about 18 chairs at normal tables, 4 bar style chairs, a couch and two armchairs. There are only three outlets though and they are only accessible from three tables and the comfy chairs.
The sun can really blaze through the front windows, which I love, but it also can make the space pretty warm. Hopefully they'll put in shades before the summer or it may become a combination coffee shop and steam room.

Great Lakewood location with an accommodating staff that makes delicious drinks in a timely manner. I couldn’t have asked for a better cappuccino! Rising Star has been in this location less than a month and already has a loyal following of regulars. I will definitely be stopping back in. Thanks guys!

I love the original Rising Star in Hingetown, but the Lakewood one is a dump and feels like an afterthought. I walked in and saw a bunch of people standing around waiting for their coffee and no coffee being made. I stuck around for a little bit and never was waited on or saw one customer get their coffee, so I ended up walking out. I gave them 2 stars simply because I'm sure the coffee would have tasted good if I had gotten the chance to taste it.

Walk, bike or drive there and park easily in the parking lot north of the building. Plenty of seating and space pre-Covid times. Now, safe measures put in place to protect customers. I enjoy the iced coffee with lavender. The staff is friendly and helpful if looking for suggestions. Also, the scones are delightful!

I have been in the Lakewood location more than once and thought their coffee was wonderful, however yesterday I took a friend from out of town and both of our lattes (two different kinds) were terrible. They both tasted very burnt.

We love this place. Excellent coffee and customer service. First place we've found in Cleveland that can make an actual flat white (the flat whites you get at Starbucks are NOT flat whites). If you've never had one, try it - you get a rich creamy coffee taste, without the milkiness of a traditional latte. The baristas really know their stuff. Presentation is excellent - our coffee is always served on a wooden platter with a small sparkling water on the side, and usually with a cool 'latte art' design on the top. If you have 15-20 mins, order your coffee and drink it there - it's a great stepping-stone for whatever else you have to do afterwards, and how coffee is meant to be drunk. By the way, if the above sounds a tad pretentious, that's just me; these guys are as down-to-earth as they come.

Great coffee. I went there to get beans because they provide the coffee to LePetit Triangle (q.v.). They couldn't have been nicer. They have several differnt coffees from several different nations. I didn't need it ground but they cheefully offered to do so.
The crowd seems to be trendy Lakewood types and the atmosphere is typical coffee house. It's way better product and ambiance than the coffee chain that exists on every street corner.
Go here if you want a great cup of coffee or coffee for your own home. Typical gourmet coffee prices, maybe a little cheaper but you will be pleased with the results.
