Amazing food and flavor . It was my first time and I didn’t know that you eat using your hands and no cutlery but once you figure that out you will have one of the best meals in Dayton . I read in some reviews which said that the waitress is rude , no she is not . You have to understand she is from a different culture and background so it can come across as rude but she doesn’t mean it by anyway . Have the Nanye tibs and the chicken tins , finger licking good . I am going back again to this family owned restaurant which is amazing and unique .

It's been a long time since Dayton had an Ethiopian restaurant. I called in advance to make sure it was open, but when I arrived, I found the place closed with nothing to indicate that a restaurant is there. There isn't even a sign. Don't let this deter you though. I returned a second time and found the food to be superior to other Ethiopian restaurants in Ohio. The atmosphere is traditional and comfy. If you like Ethiopian food, don't miss out on this place!

My girlfriend came into town and we wanted a nice meal before she had to go, the food is delicious and is vegetarian/vegan friendly. The only thing that is weird is that they give you water bottles which costs $1, but overall it had a nice scenic feel to it, there is incense burning that really sets the tone. We got 2 servings of the vegetarian plate which they brought on one platter...next time we will get 1 serving we were stuffed!! After all that Naan it really gets to you. Will go again.

Staff was very nice and helpful. Went as the first time to an Ethiopian restaurant, and the recommendations given were on point. I definitely ate enough for at least 2 people, I couldn't stop eating!

I'm extremely excited to try local Ethiopian food! Ordered $60, including 3 entrees, a breakfast snack, and a coffee via Uber Eats - only the breakfast snack (some bread and eggs) and the coffee were delivered. Every single entree was missing! When I called the restaurant on delivery (the Uber Eats delivery driver was fantastic - not his fault, the bags are sealed) they didn't pick up and their voicemail did not exist. I'm going to give a middling rating because I want this restaurant to succeed (and I'd be happy to update it later) but this was a disappointing first experience.

Food is ok. Bottle beer past expiration date still served. Be careful with hidden charges they add when you use your credit cards. They claim it is a charge from square but it is way too high than the fees square charged for merchants and also not supposed to be paid by customers.

The food here is delicious! And the staff is warm, attentive, and helpful if you have questions. Don't be afraid to ask questions if Ethiopian food is new to you. You couldn't ask for a better introduction to Ethiopian cuisine than Nanya's.

THE best ethiopian food I've had. No utensils, not a problem but you should know you're going to be eating with your hand. We made a reservation and were the only people there. (They probably wouldn't have been open though had we not, so please do!) The coffee service was also delightful accompanied with incense. I adore this place. Check it out!

I felt I was transported to Africa, the ambiance and the authentic food - all excellent!

Limited vegan options but ones available are delicious!
