Wanting to try something different while on the road, this Ethiopian cafe fit the bill perfectly. I’m not qualified to vouch fir the authenticity, but the food wash tasty, fresh and flavorful. The building and decor shows its age but it is clean and inviting. Water served in plastic bottle with no offer of glassware.

Neat place to try! The Ethiopian coffee experience was really interesting. Served w a side of incense! (See photo). The spongey bread was different, and texturally challenging. I recommend trying on the side before you dive in and get your whole entree based on it. My friend got chicken and rice dish that looked amazing! The inside needs a bit fixed up but they are new to the space. I think it will evolve. Glad I got out of my comfort zone and tried something new!

Unique offerings in Dayton. We went in with no expectations. We were greated warmly and they spent several minutes walking through their menu and history of the dishes.
We ordered two sampler platters and quickly realized that the servings we're very generous. Everything was tasty but we especially liked the vegetarian dishes which were bright and deeply spiced.

The only Ethiopian restaurant in the Dayton area. The food was delicious and the owner was very nice. Atmosphere was cozy and service top notch. If you’ve never had Ethiopian food, take a chance and eat here. Have the combo plate served family style.

Very authentic Ethiopian food place. The food was good but the bread was cold. Overall good place. Friendly stuff. Clean environment.

Took my friend to try Etiopian today!!
We love Indian food..so this was a 100% hit for her.
I loved my Vegetarian platter and the Appitizers.
The flavors are spot on😋🍴

This restaurant is vegan taste royalty! We cannot say enough good things about our meal tonight. Our favorite items (in order): Tegabino Shiro, Nanyea’s Sambosa, Ful, and the Injera Firfir. There is nothing in this list you will dislike. We just had so much fun eating the first two items.
Honorable mention to their mango smoothie - simply fresh fruit and water. No sweetener or additives. Oh! I almost forgot their delicious spiced tea and my husband had the Ethiopian coffee.
Yum-o! 😋😋

After a long day, I drove 20 minutes to celebrate my birthday at Nanyea and they were closed even though both their website and Google hours showed that they were open. :( Drove another 20 minutes to find somewhere else to eat, which is not a fun thing to do on one's birthday. Called the next day to enquire about their hours and the person who I spoke with was not bothered. She said, "If we are slow, we close early. It's not worth staying open for a few customers. If we are slow for lunch or early dinner, we just decide to close." Disappointed that this was not made known on their website or Google that hours vary and to call ahead. Wanted to make others aware so that their trip to Nanyea and dinner is not ruined as well.

Overall a great experience! I think this is the only Ethiopian restaurant in Dayton and from what I can tell, it was very authentic. As soon as you walk in, you can really smell the wonderful spices coming from the kitchen. The staff was very friendly. I went with my boyfriend and sister and we all ordered different things to try and they were all great! Loved seeing so many vegan/vegetarian options as well. All day breakfast option was nice and lots of great options. Definitely would recommend!
