You support local sustainability when you buy your lunch and calm your sweet tooth here. Everything is seasonal and made on site, and it's a no microwave zone. Want a mid-day wine tasting? They've got you covered every day!

My, oh, my. I visited the Village Bakery & Café for the first time the day before Thanksgiving. My fiancée's mother took my fiancée and myself there for lunch after we arrived in town from Cincinnati. I ordered the Houdini Panini. Delicious. My fianceé let me sample her smoked trout salad, which was equally tasty. I definitely plan on returning the next time I visit Athens.

The price tag comes with a little peace of mind knowing you're supporting small and local business. But the coffee, food, and venue all feel hand crafted by the owners and it makes it a worthwhile stop for any Athens visitors.

My other outlying favorite place to score great coffees and teas, nicely prepared food, good necessities like wine and fresh baked goods. Far enough away from up-town that one can sit on the veranda and see the Westbanhoff in Vienna... :-) Well, ALMOST!!

It's become an institution, serving local fare and fantastic breads and pastries. You can also stock up on some local foods like cheese, eggs, and milk, and there's a good selection of beers and wine. On top of all that, they have a nice array of locally produced items like art and jewelry. Solar powered with geothermal HVAC - they're doing everything right!

Love this place. Service is great and food is so original. You can shop, just get coffee, meet people for a meal or enjoy some quiet time. Good for studying and nice outside patio.

The breakfast food is fantastic and their beverages are always delicious. However, my friends and I did have to wait for some time for some simple items compared to others with more complicated dishes, so that was a little odd.

Truly enjoyable experience. Waiting in line and hoping they don't run out of your favorite item speaks for itself. It's well work the time spent. I hate giving them the 5 star "thumbs up" because I don't want to add you to the line in front of me next time.

I visited Village Bakery on a Sunday morning for a quick breakfast. Food is good. Nice atmosphere, and a fun brunch place. The menu is small, limited options!!
