The food tested great. Everything else was NOT good. The model they have chosen does not do them a favor.

A wonderful neighborhood cafe on the eastside of Athens. Food is delicious and local, mostly organic, and as of 2022, the menu is now completely vegetarian.
They serve Ridgerunner coffee, powered by rooftop solar... and no tipping (included in prices). What is there not to love?

I love this place! Daily special soups , delicious sandwiches that are great but also done with a consideration to the environment and the local economy. If you're into awesome good and supporting local business this place is for you. Plenty of vegetarian and vegan options fyi 😉

Amazing atmosphere, delicious food and true dedication to promoting a sustainable lifestyle. Even got a metal fork for take away; despite stating that I do not live nearby and could bring it back soon.

The Village Bakery is one of the best eateries in Athens. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu and they have great vegan options! The onion bialy with tofu spread is delicious "grab and go" vegan food if you're in a hurry but the bakery is so delightful you will want to stay and take your time savoring every mouth watering morsel. They are proudly part of the food revolution and get most of their food within the region. They support environmental, economic and social justice and encourage patrons to take an active part by learning more about the world around them. They have great coffee and kombuchas, their desserts are amazing, the food is perfectly portioned so you feel full and satiated-its definitely worth a stop!

Its like walking into the image of what people think of when you say coffee shop/bakery in a college town. Amazing food and atmosphere.

Very bland and unseasoned food, made me sick and I only ate a few bites of my $12 meal. Pretty sad menu and very floury biscuit that couldn't be improved with butter. I love supporting local food, but this is not the place to do it - the food should at least taste good!

We enjoyed our time spent at the bakery and café while our EV charged (thank you!!). The interior was eclectic, but charming and full of smiling faces. The pastries we purchased were delicious. Though we didn't look closely, a selection of wine is offered to the left side of the shop and up a stair walks as one walks inside.

We were there when they opened but our food was served lukewarm. The veggie frittata was tasty nonetheless. My DH was disappointed in his egg dish. It was a small serving. We had such a good experience on our first visit but probably won't be back.

Fantastic place to eat in Athens! I love the friendly atmosphere and the food is always phenomenal! My favorite thing to get is probably the quiche Lorraine. Super velvety with a buttery flaky crust. 👌
