Just went in and ordered a latte with half the syrup. When I got my drink and it was too sweet for me, Ruth Ann immediately remade it (and didn’t make me feel weird about it, which I am really thankful for!) We have always had a great experience with the bar. Looking forward to enjoying the sunshine with this perfect vanilla latte with half the syrup.

So happy with the new direction and ownership of Black and White! All the baristas seem knowledge about how their coffee is sourced and roasted. They also have wonderful proportions in their drinks, not overly sweet. I love the mocha with coconut milk or any of their black coffees.

Great coffee hands down best in wake forest/ Rolesville

Hands down, best coffee in Wake Forest. Perhaps best in the Triangle, and that's saying a lot.

It's roasted right in the back of the shop, and the roasts are very well done. The shop up front is really just a pour over bar, no espresso machine here. Try the nitro brew for a very unique cup of coffee.

Staff is top notch, atmosphere is friendly. Feels a little spartan in the shop, but I think it adds to the character. The seating is limited inside but it does have outdoor seating on a nice day.

This small coffee shop is quaint and provides a nice environment to study, chat, or simply enjoy a quality pour-over for a while. The staff is friendly and the coffee I've had has been more than acceptable. If you ever decide to give this gem a try, I recommend the Konga. It's one of my favorites that they carry and it a good drink to start out with.

Back Alley had become one of my favorite roasters in Eastern NC, and I love that they are in Wake Forest. The owner, Tracey McKenzie, is the nicest guy and a coffee fanatic, and the shop and staff reflect that. They have fantastic nitro cold brew, and do amazing specially coffee drinks like their Cold Fashioned. One of my favorite shops in the Triangle area.

5 stars! The coffee is excellent and the baristas helpful and informative. Stopped in after hearing good things about this coffee and was not disappointed. Nice spot with some outdoor seating and lots of fun merch inside.

Do not waste your time or money. They just changed ownership, so I hear it used to be good but it was terrible. They’d recently switched their menu so I was trying to be patient but it took nearly 30 minutes to get 4 frozen drinks and an iced coffee. They also cost me $30 and didn’t taste very good. The “frozen hot chocolate” was ok but nothing special, especially for a place located in a chocolate factory. The iced coffee was very weak and tasteless.
They had to measure and weigh all the ingredients and there was only 1 guy doing the frozen drinks. He was the same guy taking orders and he kept stopping to take new orders. 5 orders that came in after mine were done before I got all of mine. The most annoying was when the guy stopped making our drinks to take an order and then gave one of them to that customer!! I said something and he just said it was a new menu.
I asked why the other guy couldn’t help him (as he was literally just standing there looking into space) and he said he was doing frozen drinks and orders, as if there would be some penalty for the other guy daring to help someone with their job.
The only positive I can say is that it’s in cool old building made into the chocolate factory with the coffee bar inside. I don’t think the factory is the same company.

Great beans. I'm a espresso junkie and this place has become my go-to bean source. I've been pulling some beautiful shots of both darker and lighter roasts. Even their decaf has been excellent. Regarding the cafe, it's a good place to hang out, but the real draw are the espresso drinks made by some excellent baristas. There's only a handful of cafes in the area that really know what they're doing with espresso and espresso drinks. This is one of them, but that shouldn't be a surprise as it's owned by not one, but two former US barista champions.
