I'm so sad that I do not live close to this coffee shop! I was in Wake forest and stopped in for a coffee. It was so good! The staff was friendly. I can't wait for my next trip to WF.

Ok, I'm a coffee geek who roasts my own green coffee for close to 20 years. But Black and White is simply amazing as a coffee roaster and shop. They have some stupendous offerings, single origins and special lots, that make me salivate. Buy a bag of their beans, take'm home and brew them. You'll want more! There's another big famous roaster in this region, noted as one of the five best in the US. But the smaller and higher quality B&W beats them!!

I can't have caffeine but was still able to enjoy delicious tea and a slice of blueberry lemon cake they were selling from a local bakery. Always very informative. I went with two young children who also enjoyed it

This place has (I would argue) the best coffee ever. Specifically pour overs and normal drip coffee. It’s consistently the best. I wouldn’t go anywhere else for beans, drip coffee, or plain espresso. 5/5
Unfortunately, with the exception of 2 or 3 baristas, they also have some of the most unwelcoming staff (wake forest specifically). Regularly, I walk in and am only greeted with a blank stare of someone leaning on the counter. No “hello” or “how can i help you,” just a blank stare. If the coffee wasn’t as good as it is, I wouldn’t go. But it is, and I will. Hopefully in the near future the owners will cultivate a more balanced emphasis on caring for the coffee and caring for the people buying it. 2/5

The cold brew was good and the lemon poppy baked treat was delicious. I ideally would like to hang out in a coffee shop, but the flickering fluorescent lights makes the atmosphere so sterile that I can't take being in there.

Since getting into making my own cup of "real" coffee I have been trying out different roasters from across the country. I can pleasantly say that Black and White is definitely one of the best roasters that I have tried and marked them down on my list of go to roasters. A little expensive, but worth the money. Will be looking at their site to see if there are any ways to save on purchases. Regardless, excellent coffee and keep up the great work.

So let me start by saying that some of the best coffees of my life come from this roaster. The quality is not in question. My reason for not giving a 5 star review is my experience with the subscription.
I had signed up to get a 12 oz bag every 4 weeks... Things were great until I got the same bag 2 times in a row... The response from them was just basically that the bag I'd get in 4 weeks would be different 🙄
I was able to give them a pass for that... I recently switched to the single origin version of the subscription and got blends 2 times in a row! I thought surely it was just a mistake the first time , but after the second time I just had to cancel the subscription.
I'm sure I'm just petty... Maybe I should have just reached out... But after the response on the first error, I just didn't get the feeling that they cared enough.
Proceed with caution on the subscription.

Really tasty coffee and lattes plus pastries and nice little outdoor seating area on brooks street downtown. Will definitely go here again. Do wish they had a decaf coffee option.
