Nice and simple. Great food and price. Still my favorite little restaurant

I've looked at thousands of diner pictures and yes, EVERYONE SELLS BACON AND EGGS. don't have to keep taking pictures of eggs and bacon.

I had breakfast ; pancakes & bacon. The bacon was good but the pancakes need a lot of working on. Pancakes tasted like plain cornmeal and they are too thick. Tasted like i was eating cornbread with syrup. They should change the flour mix for a better pancake. But my scramble eggs were good.

The staff at Flat River Cafe are very efficient in getting this monthly Helena H S alumnus group well fed.

Great home cooked meals, and friendly service. Check the hours before going. I definitely recommend the specials, any of them. Just get there early because they might run out.

The food was great service was good. I had the Tuesday special ( pork chops) with okra and mashed potatoes and gravy and hushpuppies coffee to drink. The chops were great as were the vegs the hushpuppies were a little overcooked but were fine. The coffee was typical diner coffee a bit weakish but was ok. I'll surely be back to try something else. Maybe fried chicken next time.

Wednesday's special was bbq ribs? (ꈍ⌓ꈍ✿) *haah!* (Filled with southern euphorical pleasure) whenever you're in the back roads of the good ole south and you find a hole-in-the-wall restaurant or a mom and pop shop; get in that booth, let that kind waitress serve you some good soul food because places like the flat river cafe and other hole-in-the-wall, and humble mom and pop shops are the true southern cuisine gems in the south ( to the pit master who is reading this sir/ma'am your ribs have bonafide touched my Hispanic heartstrings and played southern rock 🤟🏼 cause you got going all guy fiero so frost my tips turn my Oakley's upside down you've sent me to flavor town)

A hidden gem! Food was delicious. Service was excellent and can't wait to go back and take my wife and friends.

We each had a ribeye steak with a baked potato and salad. It was fantastic. I had chocolate pie and it tasted homemade. We enjoyed the atmosphere.

This is a 'hidden gem'
Give it a try for breakfast & lunch most days ( but no Sundays)
A special dinner hour on fridays & only fridays.
The market next door has a wonderful butcher section (when you want to grill yoursel,f bit pricey but, look at the filets & ribbies oh man)
