Wanted to go to a local place to support small business. Not from the area or the state. Went to get coffee 730 ish am me and my friend were the only people in the facility. A woman asked if we had masks and we said no but if they had some we would be more than willing to wear them. She handed them to us and right when my friend put the mask on a younger male went to the register and said he was going to charge us .25 cents for each mask because “you know this has been a thing for a while” . My friend stated we weren’t from around here or the state and weren’t trying to be disrespectful. The young man was very rude about the whole situation. Very awful experience due to this. Don’t mind wearing masks at all , but the fact he maliciously charged us after she put it on her face. And seemed to just charge us out of anger. ( no sign .25 cents for masks)

Love tate st coffee. Their chai is delicious and I love the cakes/cheesecakes they offer for dessert. Great option if you need a lot of coffee for a meeting. Staff is always super friendly.

Tate street coffee will always have a place in my heart. I spent 3 years of college studying here and then moved away for 2 years. We moved back to Greensboro and it’s like nothing changed. I get coffee and a bagel here every morning. The food and service are amazing and the coffee is delicious. When I’m feeling wild, I’ll order one of the many unique drinks they have here, including blended drinks, lattes, beer and wines, and non coffee drinks.

I used to survive off the coffee and pumpkins here in college. 15 years later and it hasn't changed a bit. Still the best coffee (iced mocha latte with just the right amount of mocha) and they still sell the Spring Garden Bakery pumpkin muffins! They are currently following the safety guidelines for covid and offer online ordering as well. ❤️

I stopped in for coffee and to use the Internet. It's a very cute, student-friendly place and the coffee was great. I understand that seating is probably difficult with the winter and COVID going on, but more seating would be nice. Thanks for letting me use your wi-fi.

This is such a great place for a snack and coffee in between classes.

We drove 15minutes to get coffee here and My Boyfriends coffee tasted burnt and my Carmel blended coffee almost had no taste at all they didn't even try to fix the issue I fo not recommend. We did find some great coffee at Common Grounds tho people were sweet there and coffee is great

Stopped here for early breakfast. Wonderful bagel sandwiches and coffee. Interior of restaurant is decorated with local art and whimsical artifacts. Entire staff was friendly, personable and efficient. Will return next time we are in town.

I love Tate street Coffee house, and do a lot of business there as a caffeine addicted college student. However they are really strict and sometimes downright rude about "outside" food which they sometimes enforce and sometimes do not, which makes it annoying. I had a female worker with short hair come up to me today and pretty rudely said "you can't eat that" and upon talking to her, was pretty snappy and mean. As a 20 y/o college student who works in food service myself, this incident was pretty inappropriate. I don't want to sound like a Karen, but it rubbed me the wrong way, especially since I love their beverages.
