Great atmosphere and friendly staff! The espresso was below average tasting dry and acrid, but the smell was suitably sweet and milk drinks are still good. Their signature Black and Tan latte is a very good snickerdoodle flavor and worth the trip!

Cute café! The drinks are amazing! Nice option for a quick bite to eat for breakfast or lunch. I only found the size of location to be unpleasant. I definitely think they would get WAY more business with more space and seating. I recommend the cinnamon bun!

When they say "taste the difference" they're not exaggerating. I was not a coffee drinker before this but this place has me going back anytime I get the chance! Ive never tasted decaf coffees that are SO GOOD! Had the same drink at a popular chain cafe that shall not be named and Tate's is incomparable to that! The staff are really nice too!

I never felt a part of the wonderful ethos that is TSCH, but and always went with friends (only with friends). Then one day, I decided to go by myself to get a smoothie. I had never officially introduced myself but they said hello, and remember who I was. That was all it took. Doesn't really matter but it was important to me. They respect dietary needs and will do what they can around food allergies. All you have to do is ask. Music wins. I just wish they had dark roast 😊.

Can't go wrong with Tate Street Coffeehouse, they have amazing coffee, friendly staff, warm and cozy atmosphere, and the community knows it! This place is always so full of life!

Is and always has been my go to place for coffee on Tate St. since a young college student and a young adult. I don't get over this way as much these days but I happy to see that this place and most around it have not changed much since then. The breakfast options are really good for not being an actual restaurant so if it is a breakfast sandwich you crave I 2ould say at least try here one and I don't think you will be disappointed 8n having done so. Great staff and the occasional live music offering are also great reasons for regular visits if a local area college student or just simply convenient to your day breaks or routine.

Ordered black & tan and ham sandwich. Absolutely AMAZING! It's still the same vibe from the last time I came here. HIGHLY recommend coming here if in the area and want great coffee and sandwiches to match

I’m a regular customer at Tate Street coffee house, I usually order my coffee and head out the door. Today I was planning on ordering my coffee and finishing up around 30 min of homework. The line was long and the guy in front of me in the line walked straight in and started working on his laptop. So, I followed and did the same thing with the intention of ordering my coffee once the line got shorter because I had an assignment due soon. From the moment I sat down I noticed an older gentleman in a Tate Street coffee house shirt, which I assume to be one of the owners continuously walking back and forth in front of my table staring at me as he did so. In attempt to make me feel uncomfortable! After a while of this he walked up to me and said in an extremely derogatory tone, “have you been helped”? Which I then explain that I have yet to place my order. He then continued by saying I cannot sit in the coffee shop if I had not order anything in the same derogatory tone! I understand this policy, but you cannot pick and choose when you would like to enforce your policies. It was extremely upsetting seeing another white man doing the exact same thing as me and not be publicly humiliated for it. I think it was interesting that he chose the only black hijabi female in the coffee shop to enforce his policies on. I have seen multiple reviews that all follow the same story line. I really think it’s time this coffee shop incorporates diversity and inclusion training with all their employees including the owners!

Nice café with eclectic art, seating, and nods to jazz greats, a continuum of soft jazz playing in background, and staff which greet regulars with friendliness and familiarity of their usual orders.
Clean.
Most seating is two two a table, a few center 4 to a table, and 2 group study areas in back.
Shared power strip plugs along left wall.
