Cocoa Cinnamon

Every time I am in Durham we come here. The shop is cute and the staff is friendly. But also it is my favorite coffee, by Little Waves Coffee Roasters. I get it shipped and pack my luggage with it when I am in Durham.

Great coffee with atmosphere. Loved the outdoors and late spring with flowers and cool weather! Lacking a little in food variety but made up from the coffee selections and quality..!

Delicious first time experience! Thoughts:

What is great:
-Drink ordered the Al Mokha, was beautiful and delicious with banging fresh chocolate
-Music playlist was groovy and fresh
-Positive, colorful, and vibrant atmosphere for working
-WiFi
-Free used Coffee ground bags for your home garden to compost! So cool I took a bag.

Why you might not come here:
-If you need a quiet space to work, music was moderately loud and there were lots of conversations from other patrons. But no different from any other coffee shop.
-That’s it! Loved it

Everytime when I don't know where to hang out on weekends,I will go to Cocoa.There are three chained shops located in Durham.Love its coffee and chorrus so much!

I’ve read the owners many responses. Covid is not affecting businesses anymore. Forcing us to pay workers wages instead of just raising prices or paying them better is ridiculous. The workers didn’t do anything to warrant any amount of tip let alone 20%. Will continue to not come here unless I have too.

Also drink had an odd flavor for a coffee with no added flavor.

Any decent vibe that the space provided was ruined by this tip garbage.

BE CAREFUL!!! THEY WILL ADD A GRATUITY WITHOUT YOUR KNOWLEDGE/PERMISSION.
This place has coffee that is overpriced and rather weak. In addition, the person at the register will ask if you want a receipt and WILL ILLEGALLY ADD A LARGE TIP WITHOUT YOUR KNOWLEDGE/PERMISSION IF YOU SAY YOU DON'T NEED A RECEIPT.

I ordered a coffee and was quoted a price of ~$10 at the register, was asked if I wanted a receipt, said no, and saw the person press what looked to be a 25/30% tip for themselves. I did not question it, drank my coffee in the place with my friend, and later went back up to order a $4.50 drink to-go, but paid closer attention this time. And I was certain, they added a large tip for themselves AGAIN. I later went to check my banking app to confirm my suspicions and lone and behold a ~$10 charge magically became over $13.30 dollars and a $4.50 drink magically became a $6.05 charge.

THIS PRACTICE IS BOTH ILLEGAL AND UNETHICAL TO QUOTE CERTAIN PRICES AND THEN GIVE YOURSELVES A TIP WITHOUT THE KNOWLEDGE/PERMISSION OF THE CUSTOMER. I should honestly report the business for this. THE LEAST I CAN SAY IS THAT YOU SHOULD NEVER GIVE THIS ESTABLISHMENT YOUR BUSINESS, BOTH BECAUSE THEIR PRODUCT IS UNDERWHELMING/OVERPRICED AND BECAUSE THEIR STAFF IS ENGAGING IN UNETHICAL BEHAVIOR. I AM NOT THE FIRST PERSON TO COMPLAIN ABOUT THIS. CHECK THE REVIEWS. THIS HAS BEEN AN ONGOING PROBLEM.

Great coffee shop. High end coffee drinks made to order. Best in Durham. They could use some more parking, but otherwise can’t beat this shop.

Very cute place❤ chill and relaxed. LOTS of options, although they dont make you feel rushed when looking over everything.
Tight parking, but even if you have to park down the street, it's worth it. 🌟

Cute space. Nice patio. Coffee was subpar for their price point. I had a pour-over of their Ethiopian and it was very underwhelming. Staff was slow to acknowledge me and not outgoing. Automatic 20% gratuity added to all orders. Bathrooms were clean.

Nice coffee shop! Ordered in person and it was fast and easy. Their amuleto latte and chocolate croissant was great! Much better than starbucks!
