As a resident who’s been with LTH from it’s birth at Novel, I have been incredibly disappointed and unsatisfied with what has become of this beautiful coffee shop. When it first opened, the staff was AWESOME and the vibe was unmatched. There was a sense of community, the staff was welcoming, actually cared about how you were doing and asked about where you’d been if they didn’t see you for awhile. I actually knew staff NAMES and was excited to come see my friends who would always make me the most delicious cup of coffee. The staff before would see my boyfriend and I, waiting in line and by the time we’d get to the front, our order would already be waiting for us. Carlos, Mackenzie, Maggie, Deja and Tyler were the absolute best people that could’ve worked at that coffee shop. Now, there’s new management. The menus for both coffee, drinks and food have changed. The prices are INSANE. $10 for a yogurt, $11 for a smoothie. And to top it off, the perks of being a resident have slowly dissipated (free refill on coffee with a special mug, 10% discount, etc). If you’re willing to pay close to $8-$9 for a vanilla oat milk latte, this is your place.
There is no sense of community anymore. A group of us, every Friday, would come to the coffee shop for Food Truck Fridays, listen to the amazing live music and have fun. Now, the place is DEAD on the weekends, there’s no more food trucks or trivia. There’s hardly ever live music and when there is, it’s incredibly weird elevator music. The staff is not educated well enough to be serving cocktails - nor do they make the cocktails they used to have on the menu, even though they still have all of the ingredients for them. Everyone here is incredibly rude/stuck up, especially the new management. This place really was like a family. Now, this place will never have my business. I won’t even go here out of desperation. Save your money and brew your own $6 bag of coffee from Harris Teeter. This place is not the vibe.
BTW, my boyfriend was LITERALLY charged $1 EXTRA for getting a cold brew without ice…and was not given his 10% resident discount because after almost a year, they stopped honoring it.. Who does that?! Rude, greedy, way over priced, horrible customer service.

Place used to be awesome, but not anymore. Coffee and service has really gone downhill with the new management. Prices are ridiculous, plus they charge an extra $1 if you do not want ice in your cold brew. Prepare to spend about $15 on two coffees. I’d take my service to burr and berry down the street.

LTH is a one of a kind coffee shop that breaks the mold from others in the area. Everyone is welcoming and the coffee (particularly the specialty drinks) always taste great. I’m a regular and every member of the staff welcomes me with a smile. Loving the new food menu and can’t wait to see what they do next.

Wow! I cannot rate this high enough! Such a cool atmosphere and every barista I've come in contact with has been SO NICE! Everyone there is so welcoming. I really feel at ease when I come here with my laptop to do schoolwork. It's calm, it's relaxing, I can really concentrate. The coffee is great and so are the breakfast foods. I like the option of an actual mug OR a paper cup! Tyler and Carlos are amazing. Couldn't recommend this place more. 10/10

Hidden gem! Great coffee, huge space with tons of seating, good wifi, decently quiet. Great place to work remotely if you need a change of scenery from your home office.

Just stopped by at 8:30 on a Saturday for a late evening latte. Doors not open. Barista didn't let us in.

Please don't advertise 10pm Saturday if your doors aren't open.

The espresso was absolutely delightful, very well and carefully crafted. The service was insanely good! It's been a while since the last we were so well served. The store is cozy and beautiful. Different spaces to meet, study, or just talk and enjoy a good coffee. 11/10!

The design an atmosphere of this place is really nice.
The coffee is good, bakery items are way overpriced for it feels like being frozen and reheated.
Worst was the staff at the counter, very unfriendly and arrogant. Would not go again.

Land of a Thousand Hills is an absolutely amazing environment! The staff is incredible and the utilization of the space they have is astonishing. If anyone needs a place to grab insanely great coffee and use work space, this is your place. Play pool, backgammon, sit outside, or simply enjoy the artwork, lighting, and music inside. A staple of Charlotte!
