Cardinal Coffee

Pleasant baristas. Kind enough to grind my coffee two different textures to accommodate our needs. The coffee drinks that we ordered were perfect. Would most definitely recommend this tiny shop to coffee enthusiasts and casual drinkers alike. We'll certainly be back for more when back in town!

Such great quality teas!! One of the best matcha lattes I've ever had. The mate was also delicious. The bagels are great, and come nicely toasted with LOTS of cream cheese on the side! Really great little spot. Will definitely go back every time we vacation on the river!

I was a bit surprised to find this gem of a coffee shop serving such excellent espresso! And overall, great menu selection. Super grateful this place exists. Visited about 5 times during my 12 day trip in the Nantahala. Can’t wait to go back!

This was a really cute coffee shop to visit during our stay in the mountains. The shop itself was very well decorated and offered unique products. I got a caramel frappe and it was absolutely amazing! The girl working at the counter was working alone and did an amazing job balancing all the different tasks she had, while remaining friendly and attentive. Definitely would stop here if you get the chance. I would warn that due to COVID they have a 3 person occupancy limit so all others have to wait outside if the maximum capacity is reached.

Love love love this place! Stopped in on our way to the Smokies for breakfast and coffee and I'm so glad we did! The staff is so friendly and helped us decide what to get. I got a French toast bagel and an iced maple spice latte which was AMAZING. My friend got the golden latte and loved it. Their food selection is pretty limited - just bagels and some pastries - but there is an extensive coffee and smoothie menu.
Their logo is really neat (we got a couple stickers!) and the atmosphere of the shop is welcoming and unique.
Highly recommend. Will definitely be stopping here the next time I'm in the area!

The BEST coffee in the area & wonderful service behind the counter!

We just happened upon this coffee shop as we rolled into town, and went back every day (regretted it the couple times we tried others throughout the day, just sayin lol) during our stay.

The very friendly and helpful staff gave us great recommendations in the area, and every one was as good as their coffee (and cookies)

This will be our first stop if we visit this area again...

Excellent prices for excellent coffee. This coffee shop has an amazing selection of options and flavors. Unfortunately, there was only one worker when we were there, but it was worth the wait.

This is the cutest little coffee shop, Tucktaway in the mountains of North Carolina. Everything is extremely high quality, and the service is impeccable. If you are in the gorge, I highly recommend stopping and grabbing a baked goods of any kind because I have tried them all and they are all delicious And a coffee or tea

I pulled into cardinal coffee on a Friday, I have been driving for hours with my two-year-old daughter on our way home from visiting grandparents. I have been starting to fall asleep while driving so I was grateful to see the coffee shop. When I pulled up I saw a gentleman in a Black and white flannel shirt lock the door. I saw the sign that they close at 3 PM and I looked at my watch and it was 3 PM on the dot. It would have only taken a few minutes to make me a small cup of coffee so I could make it the rest of the way home. But instead he saw me with my daughter in my arms standing at the doorway and made the choice to do nothing. I’ve been sat in my car for 10 minutes explaining to my daughter the meaning of kindness and how sometimes in life things that may same as a hindrance to us could be a blessing for others. I have stopped at this coffee shop several times on this trip to and from my grandparents. But I won’t to stop any longer .
