Fred & Larry's Coffee

5.0 Stars, Best coffee shop and experience, I've been to in a while. A little hipster which was a good change in pace. Owner is super nice and coffee is local from Boone,NC. I thought that was cool. If you are ever up there, try this place out....!

Sugar overload on the drinks but that was probably our fault for ordering sweet coffee treats. Aside from that it was awesome and kept me energized through the day. I'm glad to see them doing their best with COVID safety by closing off the inside of the store.

Fantastic spot! Its has a lively welcoming environment, with a great atmosphere for open mic (Fridays @7). They have some of the best hot drinks around, perfect for coming fresh from skiing beech or sugar. The staff are super friendly and make great conversation.
TLDR: Go here, its fantastic, you won't regret it.

My husband loves apple cider and he said this was the best he’s ever had. And my mocha was definitely the best I’ve ever had. Thanks for the hot, delicious drinks after our snow tubing adventure. Perfect way to end the evening.

Great local coffee! We visited during the COVID pandemic and it was clear that the employees were taking every precaution to keep customers and staff safe while providing the same delicious coffee and treats. We are in Banner Elk often and will make this our go-to coffee shop.

Coffee here is REALLY good! They had several non-dairy milks for me to choose from and the staff is super nice. I'll definitely be going back next time I'm back in town!

A local favorite that's a great option to corporate coffee. The toasted coconut is very honestly one of the tastiest cups of coffee I've ever had. I also highly recommend the chocolate shake. Larry is usually around so make sure to say hi.

Cute little coffee shop but staff completely ignored my husband when he came in. One staff member bagged four 1lbs of coffee without even acknowledging him while another stood there drinking coffee. A customer actually came in while he was there and just “helped himself” behind the counter. There is an equally cute coffee shop down the road, with much better service, that will be getting our business the rest of our trip here.

Visited super late in the day, like after 5, and was greeted by a friendly man who could only have been larry himself! (or fred?) I tried the banana bread latte, which is super out of my comfort zone, mind you, and BOY OH BOY was that a fantastic choice. FRESH! BOLD! YOWZA! Not a doubt in my mind that anything I ordered would have been out of this world. My only wish is that I didn't live 9 hours away! Thank you Fred and Larry's!

You have to order outside. There is a large partition between you and whoever is taking the order. Had to wait a couple of minutes for someone to show up to take the order. We ordered Chai lattes. If you like your Chia super spicy, this place is for you. I did not care for it and ditched it. I didn't ask them to correct it because I believed this was just how they make it. The overall experience was impersonal and unpleasant.
