Stopped by here with my wife on the way to work. The place is nice inside with lots of room and seating. The quality of furniture and decoration is top notch. Seems like it could be nice and busy as times later in the day. The pirate-ish and sea vibe isn't my favorite, but my Chai Tea Latte was great!
A brewery combined with a cafe. Very laid-back/chill vibes with plenty of seating and parking available. Also has really friendly bartenders/baristas. I got the Kenya French roast. This is a very dark roast with that coffee punch you’ve come to know and love. Definitely has a dark chocolate-type bold flavor with nutty aftertaste. However, it did not taste syrupy or citrusy as the flavor profile suggests. Surprisingly, it did not have the dry aftertaste that some coffees do.
As a life coach, I always tell my clients that your first sip of coffee is what will determine the rest of the day. Okay, not really. But a good coffee is like a hug in a mug! I’m sad to say that my coffee this morning was like an awkward side hug. It wasn’t the worst, but just not fully there, ya know? 🥴
First and foremost, great coffee! The drip and the espresso drinks were top notch. Great bar service and quick pulls on the espresso shots. Very friendly baristas and incredibly helpful!
The location inside is the typical brewery space but this place really shines with its outdoor space. The green space is downright immaculate! There is plenty of seating with optional shade. The music lent the space a great vibe and it was a great place to drink and chat with friends.
There is plenty of gravel parking and food trucks come regularly.
I highly recommend coming here for a coffee before you switch to beer!
Love the people who run this place, the ambience, vibe and the coffee. Barista is great too. I stop by here almost once a week. It also has Vicious Fishes brewery inside which I think is a cool, modern concept. Amazing Cafe in the area
I met the owner when it was still in construction. He was very kind. I lived in Apex for a year but never been there before. I recently met my bride there. I thought the place was very nice.
This is the perfect example of why you should take a break from Starbucks and try a local coffee joint. Rather than loading all their coffees with sugar, they truly serve their coffee drinks according the the actual definitions (Yes, I am making fun of the Starbucks "Macchiato"). The espresso flavor is more moderately roasted, but has a much stronger "ristretto" vibe with a bit more of an acidic bite as you take the first sip. This is a great place to dine in for a morning cup of coffee, they have plenty of space and aren't overly crowded on weekday mornings. The atmosphere is definitely more pub than coffee shop, but it lends a uniqueness. The barista was very knowledgeable and made a good espresso. Highly recommended if you are looking for (or would like to try) a shorter-pull ristretto-like espresso.
Had a craving for a morning latte recently and decided to check out Piranha Joe - so glad I did! The barista, Alyson, was super friendly, attentive, and had TONS of great custom latte suggestions (pistachio syrup?! Amazing!). Highly recommend and will definitely be dropping in again, soon!
Great coffee, rich, strong and "roastey" Social atmosphere and plenty of seating options. Connected to their brewery bar and favors a brewery type scene over a quiet coffee retreat.
Coffee warms my soul and makes me a nicer person to everyone around me, so as you can see - coffee is a stable in my everyday life! Piranha Joe's is delicious. Jarrod, the morning barista is passionate about what he does, makes an effort to remember people and favorite orders, and is always willing to answer any questions about new drinks. This is one of my favorite places in Apex/New Hill and I love that it is so close to home.
