I LOVE LOVE LOVE this place! Literally the best coffee I’ve ever had, and the service from the ladies is even better! If you haven’t tried their French toast iced coffee, you’re missing out! I take a 30 minute drive just to come here! It’s well worth it!
Stopped here on our way from Cleveland to Albany. It was so good that we stopped on our way back home! Delicious and reasonably priced food and coffee, friendly employees, and cozy atmosphere. Easy to find from I-86. It is apparent that the family that owns and operates this coffee shop truly enjoys it.
First visit here and was awed and impressed with this place. Wide variety of mouth watering bagel combinations as well as just simply plain.Same goes for coffee choices...something to suit anyone's taste. Decorations fit the current Halloween season and there are interesting items for purchase that you will not find elsewhere. Give this place a try...you won't be disappointed. The 2 young women are super friendly and welcoming to all.
Stopped through on our honeymoon trip. Amazing fresh food and beautiful decor! Best fruit smoothie I've ever had!! Awesome crafted decor you can buy! Place is unbelievable!!
Great service and great coffee Best cup of coffee in the valley and I can attest to that I drink black coffee so I taste the actual quality of the coffee itself and it’s so rich and always freshly made
The bagels here are delicious! Great combination of savory or sweet flavors. However, if you are a coffee liver you will find the coffee is weak. If more people politely comment on the coffee strength, perhaps it will be addressed. But, once again, Grumpy grizzly bagel sandwiches are excellent!
Excellent breakfast sandwiches, and good specialty ice coffees! The cafe itself is very cute and there is always decor for sale. The only reason I give this local business 3 stars is because the staff is not very friendly or helpful. They act like it is a hassle to wait on you, and come off very snippy when they talk to you regarding your order. I didn't have this issue the very first time I stopped in though, they were very nice then and even suggested their favorite type of ice coffee which I ended up getting. But for some reason every other time I have stopped in, they are very rude and could use an attitude check...
I have heard many things about this place and how terrible their customer service is but the food is good and yesterday my daughter had bought me a French Toast bagel which I use to get from the Dandy but they no longer have them so I was very happy that I was able to get one again. Today I wanted another one because I love them so much so I went in to get one and much to my surprise all the things I heard even from my daughter were exactly correct. You go in there and they act like they dont want to wait on you and ignore you or stare at you like your bothering them. I have no idea how this works as I have never been there and people were walking in right in front of me to the counter picking up call in orders not once did they say to me can I help you I had to go to the counter and ask if I could make an order and even then I got major attitude. Food is good customer service is not and sad to say even though they have my favorite bagel I will never be going back here again. Perhaps they need to get a job in which customer service is not there strong point because they sure did put the face to the name of the business "GRUMPY".
The Grumpy Grizzly is a great alternative to same old Dunkin'/McDonalds routine. The storefront and interior is very well done with lots of handmade arts and crafts to look at. They have a great assortment of coffees, bagels and spreads which can quickly become overwhelming for some. I really would have liked to see a bigger menu posted on a board above the counter with more simple option and pricing (similar to the Angry Burrito). The breakfast sandwiches are set up to be build-your-own, with a majority of the toppings being 60₵ additional.
The staff were polite and attentive but unfortunately not very helpful. They simply direct you to the menu and wait for you to work your way through it. Which can be painfully daunting when the barista and other customers are waiting for you to make up your mind on what to order. I would highly recommend that customers check the menu before arriving in order to save time.
All in all this is a great little coffee and breakfast food shop that I believe has a lot of potential. I would definitely recommend adding some coffee house music ambiance and possibly a mobile ordering platform. I look forward to having breakfast here again.
