The gentleman was so nice! You have to wear masks inside! He brought the coffee out! It was a strong cup of coffee like the road signs says! $3.50 for a cup but it was worth it! I will be back!😀💜
Great unique place with good coffee! Stop in and meet Doug (the owner). I was on my way back to Rochester from East Syracuse. I Googled "coffee near me" and Kind Coffee had a good review, so I decided to stop. After an awkward moment, I soon realized they only accept cash. Embarrassed, I said "I'm sorry, I don't have cash, I was traveling and found you on Google." Doug, seemingly unfazed, asked where I was from and poured me a fresh cup of coffee. Again I said " I don't have any money, just credit." He said, "it's cool man, next time you're in the area stop and pay me, or don't, whatever." Then, after a long conversation about coffee (he roasts all his own) he gave me a 1/4lb of Jamaican blue mountain (another good faith sale). Anyhow, one of the best, most memorable coffee experiences I have had. It's worth a visit, if for nothing else but to meet Doug. By the way, I did stop back and pay!
Well the coffee is exceptional. Roasted fresh weekly. Don't expect anything else. This is a dive for sure.... The owner will be sure to share his knowledge of coffee and brewing. Once again, strictly coffee is served
Hands down one of the best cups of coffee I've ever had and a unique experience.
Expect to spend about 20 minutes on your first visit as the proprietor Doug gives you a whirlwind seminar on every step of the coffee process from selecting the beans, roasting, grinding, steeping, and of you like cream/sugar finding the perfect mix. You're getting coffee on his terms and the education is part of the package. Doug describes what he does like any idiot could make as good a cup as he does but he's got a clear knowledge of his craft and attention to detail that is a rare gift.
The shop is a cozy place with at least one dog chilling out. I'll definitely be stopping back if I pass through Syracuse again.
Doug, the owner is one of the best guys around! You can tell that he is passionate about his work, and it shows in his quality and delicious coffee! The atmosphere is very chill and laid back. You can have a nice cup of coffee and relax and play a game, or enjoy the company of one of the awesomely sweet pups! If it's your first time, Doug will walk you through the steps and process of coffee beans, helping you to find your perfect beans. The selection is great and The Kind Coffee Co has some hard to find beans. If what you want isn't available, Doug will help you choose something close. Prices are very reasonable. I know know that if you like a light roast, early in the week is best. Medium roast in the middle of the week, and dark roast at the end. You can request your beans be roasted to your liking, as long as you don't mind waiting. The Kind Coffee Co, and Doug are excellent and really helped me fine tune my taste for coffee!
GREAT coffee. Strong but not bitter. Simple choices: hot, cold or expresso. No half soy lattes here. But what you do get is an excellent cup of coffee, as good as I have found. Rarely (only a handful of times in my life) have I come across a cup of coffee as good as Kind coffee has every single day (that they are open). The owner/operator/sole staffer, Doug, explained his simple recipe. Buy the best beans, roast them fresh daily at precise temperatures, grind fresh, and make the coffee with equipment that brews at the perfect temp and time. If you enjoy fairly strong coffee, you will be delighted. And his coffee, while strong, avoids being bitter. So those who do not drink it black can add some cream and it will still taste great. For a real treat, stop at Columbus bakery before and get a fresh loaf of bread. Columbus bread and a Kind coffee are wonderful together. The owner Doug, can appear to be a bit of a character at first, but a nice character you will be happy to have encountered.
I usually never review anything, but the owner Doug made quite the impression. His passion for good coffee was incredible. Do yourself a favor and stop by when you have some free time to discuss roasting, brewing, etc. I’ll be back soon!
Delicious coffee with a super host! Thank you Doug owner, coffee roaster, brewer, manager and custodian for giving me a very informative lesson on coffee and friendly company. Hats off to you. Visit my friends you won't be disappointed!
Intensely great coffee that is roasting while you walk in. The owner is a trip. Eccentric doesnt even begin to describe this dude. He's worth going just to meet. Great spot. ✌
Doug is simply the man. I started going here about a week and a half ago and am hooked. AMAZING strong coffee made by a dude who is the most knowledgeable person I've met in this field. He has it down to a perfected science. Not to mention his dog is friggen sweet. I'm blessed he is right around the corner from my work.
