Awesome food and cats! A must visit! Great t-shirts, cat stuff, and beautiful pictures for sale with proceeds going to Brown Coat Cat Rescue.

Super cute place and a great way to decompress. Drived an hour just to go to this place. There is a private lot you can park in that is next to the building which is nice. Two rooms available to see the kitties: playful and then cuddle bugs. Marigold is a large orange cat who is the alley cat cafe "cat". All other cats are up for adoption. Unique bakery items and tasty drinks. My mom got the matcha latté and loved it.

I support their mission and the cats are incredibly adorable. That said, their food is so-so, and the place is dirty and grungy in a deep-set way that makes me question if it's ever thoroughly cleaned. Seeing the cats is great, but for actual dining/studying I would recommend Ooy's or something instead.

I find that with places like this, the gimick is the central focus and the food is lackluster. that is not the case here!! the cats are just a great addition to an already fantastic café. I also love that the cats are separate and not mingling with customers while they are eating, because I'm actually allergic 😭 so i prefer to watch them from in front of the glass. love love love 💜💜

Cute cafe with great food, however, I'm deducting a star for cleanliness. I don't expect perfection for a business that actively houses cats, but the overall cleanliness was far worse compared to other cat cafes I've been to. The odor in the back of the cafe was horrid, and the floors and chairs felt so grimy, I didn't feel comfortable sitting. There was a small play area in the back which my 2-year-old loved, but every surface was covered in filth. We were also charged for 2 cat passes, which according to their menu, we should have only been charged for one since my son is under 12. Not a huge deal since the cost is only $5 and the proceeds are donated, but something to be aware of. Otherwise, it was a good experience. The ambiance was nice, the food was excellent (and had multiple vegan options), and the staff (and cats) were pleasant.

This was my first time. The cats were sweet! The space was dirty, unkept, and had a distinct odor. Better hygiene of the cat rooms would improve the experience a lot. I loved the LGBTQ+ acceptance and the concept of the cafe.

Would give 0 stars if possible. Here's why.

1. This place CHARGES for masks if you don't have one. I don't mind wearing a mask, but charging customers who don't bring them (because the NYS mask mandate has ended) is just so low. It's funny, you buy a mask, walk 15 feet and order, then sit down and take it off.

2. Their excuse for a cat room is pitiful. In addition to charging $5 per person for a 30 min session with other random cafe-goers & cats in one of the most cramped rooms imaginable, they only had about 4 cats when I came here. No drinks allowed in either! Save your money and go to a humane adoptionn society, where they let you visit multiple cat rooms for free.

3. The staff was super weird. From the way they take your order to just small social interactions, it was a very uncomfortable energy put out by them.

4. The drinks were extremely lackluster. From the tea to the coffee, you really wish you were drinking anything else. The vegan strawberry cupcake was pretty good, though.

All in all, horrible spot. Go somewhere else for a better experience.

I enjoyed the food and cafe but I was not impressed with the area where the cats were. The room had a humidifier that looked like it wasn’t cleaned in months. One of the cats had their eyes dirty that could have easily been cleaned. I think they could do better with the conditions the cats were kept in and the room being cleaner.

Beyond these wonderful cats the food is special. Worthy of your time even if you don’t love cats. Oh my—were these cats wonderful.

Alley Cat Cafe is great! I really like coming here to study for a few hours, because the atmosphere is so relaxed and they have nice natural lighting. (As well as more practical things like wifi and outlets :) ) The people who work here are really lovely and accommodating too. I feel like social distancing is taken seriously by all the staff and customers, so I think most people would feel comfortable coming here nowadays. I tried the Cat Lady mocha today too, and it's excellent! Just the right amount of sweetness, and a very interesting blend of lavender and chocolate. Yum! I have yet to visit the cat room, but I think I will inevitably. They're just too cute through the window!
