We drove right past here on our way to catch the ferry to Vermont and had to stop. You can’t miss the large blue building with the bright yellow door and huge porch. The flowers were set up beautifully and easy to find what your looking for. The selection is gorgeous and impressively laid out. The staff was immediately welcoming and very friendly and helpful. They are new this year and it sounds like they have some great plans for fun additions (music, coffee…) So glad we discovered it!
Was looking for a cup of Joe on the drive to Essex Farm & this gem delivered! A growing business with plants, a fabulous music room (looks like the makings of a guitar museum with fabulous rugs). Great people. Looking forward to seeing how your business thrives!
I visited the Champlain Peony Farm this afternoon and was most pleased with the variety of perennials in vibrant health. The farm is nestled in a beautiful green field with can’t-miss, new, bright blue buildings. The plants are well organized and well watered, and I received welcome and warm assistance from Tom in choosing my peony plants, rose, and clematis. Tom says future plans include selling freshly cut flowers. That alone will be worth the drive to Essex!
I placed my first order with them last month and was surprised by the quality as well as the size of the roots, given such reasonable prices they offer. There was some minor problem with the shipping though, and they just gladly sent me a replacement with no extra cost. Very kind and pleasant folks to work with! I highly recommend!
Champlain Peony Co is a "diamond in the rough" you might say. Situated along a country road near Lake Champlain, the big beautiful blue buildings can't be missed. During the Summer through Fall the yard is exploding with color from a huge variety of healthy, beautiful plants, shrubs, herbs, and flowers of all kinds. They even have bulbs to plant your own garden or landscape. As the colder season begins you can find hardy mums and other flowers as well and Christmas trees and wreaths when the holiday season approaches. The owners and staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. They now have a great little self-serve coffee shop inside - that's right....a delicious hot cup of java in the country, right when you are craving one and would least expect to find it. They also have a little gift shop with some locally made items. It's definitely worth making a trip there. It's a beautiful drive and you'll be pleasantly surprised at all they have to offer.
I have visited CPO several times, and all have been positive experiences. My best memory is when I took my 94-year-old mother for a car ride one day and decided to stop at CPO because I thought she would enjoy seeing all the beautiful flowers. It was a warm day, so I thought she might enjoy sitting in the shade in one of the ADKS chairs on the expansive porch. The owner came over as I was helping Mom out of the car and I asked if it was OK if we just sat on the porch and enjoyed the view. He was very welcoming and joined us for a short visit. Needless to say, Mom and I enjoyed out outing and I have returned on my own since. Great job, CPO!
One of a very few places that carries native northeast American huckleberry (Gaylussacia brachycera). Quick to answer questions and requests, packaged and shipped a beautiful and healthy product. Couldn't be happier!
