I would give a no star if I could service was absolutely horrible horrible horrible horrible, we will never be back , they only have business because there is no we're else to eat , I recommend that if you are a trucker stopping by just grab a hot dog from the j across the street. Worst restaurant experience I have ever had .

Best thing about this establishment is the booze, chips, salsa and homemade fried cheesecake. What needs improvement is the food - it needs flavor. Their sliced roast beef smothered in gravy was tasteless. Served with it was a cup of overcooked soggy green beans. The blue chicken green chili enchilada plate had a smidge of no flavor green sauce and a sparse amount of melted cheese. Very boring - no heat and zero flavor. Thoroughly disappointed that I didn't get a real New Mexican green chili meal while eatting in New Mexico. The long wait to get seated I get. It was a Friday night and many restaurants are short staffed due to the pandemic but the food could be better. After driving 700 miles that day to get to the Blue Moon Cafe before it closed I was a little disappointed and had huge hopes for a tasty meal.

what a disappointment! 💔💔 after walking in and seeing how cute and clean this place is, i wanted so bad for the food to be great. that unfortunately wasn't the case. 👎 we arrived 10 AM "ish" on a Sunday morning and were seated immediately. as the sign says out front, there's a mix of "Mexican and American" food. perhaps they should stick to one type. 🤔 the coffee was bitter, and the chicken fried steak tasted like reused vegetable oil with a completely tasteless/non existent batter. the service isn't that friendly either, even though we were only one of about 3 or 4 tables. i will admit, it's located in a challenged area with literally nothing else around. i just wish the cook hadn't completely given up. it's so sad, too, because there's a cute gift shop and as i mentioned the place is clean... including the bathrooms. ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ perhaps it's time to rethink the menu and incentivize the cook and wait staff to do a better job. especially with the food. sad situation here... 😢

Very busy place but service was quick. Fajita chicken salad had lots of chicken and was very large with fresh vegetables.

Location: Conveniently located off the highway especially for grabbing a quick bite to eat. There is the cutest little gift shop that shares the space and offers a variety of local artisan gifts.
Service: Although the waitress was very nice, service was very inefficient. She often times sat in the back of the restaurant to eat even before we had our own food. The restaurant was not busy to say they were understaffed.
Food: We probably shouldn't have ordered anything seafood if the restaurant is located in the middle of a valley, despite the doubt, I enjoyed the Shrimp trio. The chicken fajita was very spicy, the west coast sandwich had greyed mushrooms (probably canned), and beef tacos were tasteless and not fresh meat.
The only upside from our whole dining experience was dessert, enjoying the Cheesecake Español with Starbucks hot chocolate. The Cheesecake Español features a creamy cheesecake wrapped with a crisp tortilla (think flaky beignet-like), topped with whipped cream, and drizzled with raspberry sauce.
Soon after leaving dinner, we all experienced unpleasant digestive effects that drove us to pick up some anti-acid meds.
Overall, enjoyed dessert and would even go back to the middle of nowhere to pick up Cheesecake Español, to-go.

Nice place...reccomend by Hampton inn down the street...Mexican and American food. The chips and salsa were AWESOME!! I ordered a chicken quesadilla and my dad ordered a hamburger...my quesadilla was ok nothing great but still pretty good and my dads hamburger was great! If I'm back in Santa Rosa I will give it another try! Cute place and a little gift shop too!

We stay, with our RV, at the Santa Rosa State Park on our trips West. We usually come later in the week and eat at another location. However, this trip was earlier in the week when it was closed. We tried the Silver Moon and very pleased with our choice. I ordered the cheese enchiladas and my husband ordered the Pick Three. Call in went smoothly, staff were all friendly. Recommend eating here.
