Mayhill Cafe & Hotel

Place looked neglected, lots of garbage around reception entree as well as in reception. Very rude proprietor, needed restroom and info and he tru us out. Bad place to go to.

We had breakfast there. Great blueberry pancakes and their standard breakfast fare is very good. Enjoy!

This is a review of Mayhill Cafe (I live near Cloudcroft). NOTE this Cafe has NOTHING to do with the convenience store in the same town. When I last ate here two weeks ago, it was packed with a Boy Scout troop, vacationers and locals. I thought I'd have to wait, but the waitress sat me down right away at a nice table. The cafe was very busy. But their service was always done with the utmost courtesy and efficiency.
I was very impressed with their service and loved the atmosphere. I ordered the chicken fried steak dinner and it was fork tender with a scrumptious crust. They have the best tasting coffee too.
I've eaten at Mayhill Cafe several times over the years. When a different owner ran it, the service and food went downhill. But that owner's gone. The owner now has brought it back to excellent food and service. They've also updated their decor. It's warm, friendly and western. The bathrooms are clean too.
Dress is casual. The menu prices are en par with the mountains. I have found the service to be the fastest on the mountain even though the food is homemade. They have plenty of kitchen staff to keep this place running efficiently.
If you are visiting or live in Cloudcroft and want down home cooking in a western cafe atmosphere at a good price where you do not wait 45 minutes to an hour and a half for your food, come to the Mayhill Cafe! It's my favorite place to eat up here.

Needed a restroom break, so stopped in Mayhill Cafe. Mayhill is tiny, so I did not expect much from the the cafe, but ordered a Mexican combo plate for me and hamburger for my wife. Both were absolutely delicious. I would drive out of my way to eat here again.

On our way to white sands from Carlsbad we stopped at Mayhill cafe. At first we were just not expecting much from that place but we were wrong. This is a true hidden gem in mayhill. We tried Santa Fe chicken, the chicken was so tender juicy and flavorful. We also tried chicken tacos which came with Mexican rice, chips and salsa. The portion and the taste is too good. Staffs were very friendly. People were generous and kind at mayhill. Don’t miss brownies there.

Great food. Very friendly staff. Extremely clean. One of the best places in these mountains to eat. Highly recommend. Hope they never change this cafe. Always good!

Terrific food. Large portions. Reasonable prices. American, Mexican, and catfish on Friday. If you go for breakfast and want pancakes start with one. It covers the whole platter. You can't go wrong.

This small cafe is Large on Quality and Quantity. If your in the area traveling thru the Mountains great place to stop. Clean and Pleasant place to eat. Don't forget to check out all the fresh pastries on the way out. Didn't stay the night at the motel but everything else is very highly recommended.

Great drive for a great bite. The drive to Mayhill is a beautiful one this time of year. With the hills green and the pastures full of green grass you're bound to see elk and deer if you look. The cafe is a great stop and the staff is friendly and courteous. Met some folks out enjoying the day. Stop in and say hello. Oh and they have cookies the size of pancakes.

Okay great little restaurant I ordered green chili it was awesome the server kept coming checking up on me making sure everything was good if I needed anything I recommend it highly
