Ruby K's Bagel Cafe

We had stopped going to Ruby K's ~3 years ago because they had such spotty (usually poor) service. Today I just wanted a to-go bagel, so ordered the open-face lox bagel.

On opening the container, the food is covered by a pretty heavy (and obvious!) sprinkling of flake-size to 20mm styrofoam pieces (from the to-go container I assume). The container has a lot in it - if anyone had bothered to look they would have seen it. I tried to call but was put on hold. Very stingy on the cream cheese for such an expensive meal, too; I can see through it to the bagel at its thickest point.

Tried again to help them make it right but... still no answer! 12:30 lunch rush? Guess I'll stay with Smith's bagels - which are excellent.

So many other restaurants in this town fail, but Ruby's has kept going strong for years now. This should tell you something. The food is great. Service is almost always great. Weekday lunch rush can slow things down pretty badly, but you get that in a lot of places. Always a treat to come here.

Love Ruby’s! Smoothies are good the sandwiches are really tasty! The Popeye and Sunrise with ham on Green Chile Cheddar bagel are the absolute best! Yumm!
Don’t call tho because they put you on hold and tend to forget about you so just walk in! lol

There's usually a line here because Ruby K's is REALLY good. If you're in the mood for a bagel or a nice sandwich or a smoothie, I can't recommend them enough. Their Veggie Frenzie is to die for, and I love that I can get some fruit or vegetables in place of chips, although their bagel chips are wonderful, too! The staff are friendly and efficient, the atmosphere is fun and relaxed even during a busy time, and Ruby herself is often here with a smile. I stop by whenever I have the chance.

We love this place, when we come to visit we go here every day. They make all of their own bagels and they're delicious. I highly recommend the Green Chilli Bagel. For Celiacs, the vanilla gorilla smoothie is safe. Also delicious coffee!

Took an early moto ride through the Jemez. Ruby's was the only place open besides the star bucks. Their soup warmed my core after a chilly ride. Only complaint was the crumbs on all the tables. Other than that food and service were great.

I go in to Ruby K's a lot because it's right next to where I work. I enjoy the atmosphere Ruby has established, and really appreciate the clean bathrooms. I highly recommend the cinnamon crunch bagel, and my standard is to get a cheddar bagel with green chile cream cheese. The croissants are very good, as is the sourdough. Sometimes the service is a bit tense, but that's just part of working in the center of town at lunch time.

I was standing in 4 people line for about 30 min, waiting for food ( a sandwich and a wrap, not a gourmet food) for other 25 min. They offer a fresh avocado ($0.99). I asked specifically about avocado and was assured that they do not serve avocado by slices but mashed fresh avocados. In reality they just squeezed grocery store guacamole from a package. In the end they just put our sandwiches on the plastic trays without any layer.
