Looking for a good hot breakfast? Found it!
Best huevos rancheros ever! Best green chili salsa! Amazing handmade tortillas, especially the corn tortillas! Hand squeezed orange juice! Great coffee! I knew that I had the right place when I pulled in and the parking lot was full. Friendly waitress and a wonderful atmosphere with the nice people and beautiful decorations. Oh my goodness! I can't say enough nice about this place. Mark it down on your saved places. You'll want to come back her for real authentic New Mexican cuisine. Get a quart of the salsa to go. You won't be sorry. The price is better than the local supermarket. Breakfast was cooked to perfection! I just had to write this all down before I head home. This place puts Grant on the map! And CLEAN! The restroom, the floors, the parking lot! Not too many places like this to be found. I thank God I found it. Thank you El Cafecito!

Very reasonable prices. Nice atmosphere. No chips and salsa which was unusual. Food came out fast once we ordered. Had the taco plate, tacos were decent as were the beans. I was not a fan of the rice, it was soupy and tomato sauce based, tasted like spaghetti-o's to me; my husband liked it though. He had the chimi plate w/green chile and said it was quite good. I tasted the sauce and it had a good kick to it. We also got a cheese enchilada and cheese crisp to sample. The red enchilada was fine but the sauce lacked some flavor and depth. The cheese crisp was tasty but unexpected, it was like a cross between a cheese crisp and a sopapilla or fry bread. Left full with some leftovers and a bill of only $24 including tax, before tip.

Desk clerk referred us as the best place to eat in Grant's. They advertise themselves as authentic New Mexico cuisine. If you order the chili (green or red) also order something to put out the fire in your mouth.

The food was extremely good, filling, and well priced. The sopapillas were delicious, but the rice had a ton of tomato sauce in it. Kinda threw me off and I wasn’t a fan of it, it almost felt like it was some kind of pasta and definitely didn’t resemble Mexican rice.

Sat down and waited for about 10mins to get drink order. Then about 7mins to get food ordered. But to be fair at the time it was sorta busy.
A lot of locals go here.
If they know you and your usual it'll come out faster from what I witnessed.
A good selection of Mexican food. Sweet tea was one of the best I've had.
I added the menu if you are ordering take-out. Call a head and there is a drive-thur for pickup I think.

Wow! Just wow - we tried this place on a recommendation from some friends and they were dead on! El Cafecito is amazing. Very simple menu but the flavors! Started with teezer nachos, the queso on it was spicy and fantastic. I had beef, bean and guacamole sopapilla covered in green chile sauce also had a beef chimichanga with guacamole with green Chile sauce both of these items were delicious! The real surprise was desert. Basically a sopapilla stuffed with home made cherry pie filling rolled up like a chimi and deep fried, served with vanilla ice cream (icecream was $1 extra) They also offered peach and apple filling and when I go back will sample the others as well and will update my review! When we were departing and paying up front they had the biggest cinnamon rolls I’ve ever seen and also turnovers with the same fillings described above! If you’re any where close to this place you should stop by, you will NOT be disappointed!
I am posting a pic of my plate - it’s messy because I took a bite before the photo…
I went back through here yesterday - 21Apr2023 - had breakfast. Larry’s special with green chile sauce - plus an order of French toast. Larry’s special was awesome the French toast was basic, but good. I bought a cinnamon roll to go and heated it up later with some butter as recommended by the staff and it was delicious. I’d recommend this place for any meal!

We went late on a Thursday. There were plenty of tables. The food was wonderful! The salsa was on the spicy side, but it was a fantastic accompaniment to the delicare, crisp chips! The red chili sauce was great on my tamales. The sopapillas were big and fluffy.
The walls were full of lovely metal sculptures, mostly lizards.
Our daughter has food allergies and the server went to check on items he was not sure about (the oil for frying), but he was able to readily answer most of her concerns.
We were passing through, but if/when we travel through again, we will definitely eat here.

Food was delicious. We stopped for breakfast and each got the el cafecito special, which is a ground beef filled omlette with potatoes and beans. Mine was covered in queso, and his covered in green chile and cheese. It was interesting, different and delicious.
Service was fast and friendly. Very clean restaurant, which is something I watch closely for. 😊😋👍

Bomb! We stayed at a local Airbnb and wanted to get out last bit of Mexican food before heading further east and they did not disappoint. Their Chilie Relleno was absolutely amazing, everything was great! We had cheese enchiladas, shredded beef taco, ground beef taco, shredded beef chimichanga, green chilie cheese fries and a shredded beef fluata. None of those items disappointed. The beans were a tab bland but honestly with everything else being SO AMAZING it was ok. Thank you guys! And the gal at the window was also on point!!

Driving through town on our way to Ontario from California. Simple, but comfortable, seating. Clean. Fast, friendly wait staff. But the food! It was amazing. We've been eating a lot of Mexican on this trip, but this was the best!
