Alto Cafe

The food was good but the lady that seated us made us wait even though they had an open clean table. She just dropped the plates on the table when she brought our food. I didn't ask but she appeared to be the owner or person in charge! Glad I was only in town for my wedding because I would not return.

Great food, even better service! Our waitress was so sweet and quick.

This is the best place to eat in the Ruidoso area. I had the catfish special and could not finish it all. It was a great meal. It seems to be a local favorite, so they can be busy. Even so, we had our meals in like 10 minutes.

Not sure if there's new owners or what, but the quality of food seems to have gone down. Service was slow....waiters were too busy chatting. (and the place was not full) Food was warm at best. Fries were cold and chewy. The only thing hot was the cream gravy.

Fast, friendly service, kid friendly. Delicious food. Great stop.

Still my favorite breakfast place in Ruidoso and Alto, which says a lot as there's a few newer good spots. I had a tasty omelet, and came back later and had a delicious breakfast burrito. Seems like a place that's a mix of regulars and tourists. The service was extremely polite and friendly. Also the prices are very reasonable. I'll be back there next time I'm in town.

Alto’s was an excellent choice for lunch! We had a cheeseburger, chicken salad, the kids had mini corndogs, and we also tried out their pork sandwich. All were delicious and freshly made! The servers were super friendly. We had apple cobbler for dessert with vanilla bean ice cream. My husband and I fought over it, and then debated ordering another.

If you’re ever in Alto, NM, definitely try out Alto’s Cafe! It won’t disappoint.

Great staff, food, and prices. Obviously a place where all the locals go to eat. We will definitely eat here again when we’re in town!

We’ve eaten here before, always considered it average food and service. We tried to go about 10am on a Friday because our preferred restaurant had a long wait. They were fairly busy but had 3 or 4 open tables. We stood in the lobby area waiting for 5 minutes for an employee to acknowledge us. Finally an unfriendly girl asked if we were waiting for a table for mike. I said no but could we give our name. She ignored me and walked outside. She then walked by us several more times ignoring us as did the other 7 employees. We finally got the hint and left. If you want mediocre food with poor, unfriendly service the Alto cafe is your place.

Full menu served all day. I had the steak and eggs bfast with a nice cut of 8 Oz sirloin beef. Steak was seasoned and cooked med rare perfectly. Service was good and friendly. First time here, recommended by a local, and it did not disappoint. Enjoy
