Colonial Cafe

Checked out this cafe since I got pretty tired of big coffee chains. The cafe is a pretty neat little spot. Very old school in exterior/interior. Friendly staffs.

Good coffee, people, atmosphere and breakfast food. If you’re from out of town be sure to stop by and grab a bite and coffee. If you’re local support your local business. Starbucks? What’s that.

Stopped in here on a whim and ordered a hot chocolate with whipped cream and marshmallows, and a breakfast sandwich (sandwich was premade). The staff was nice but seemed more interested in waiting on/chatting up the regulars than preparing my order. I waited a while, then went to the bathroom, then came back and waited some more before my drink was ready…with no marshmallows or whipped cream. It was just hot chocolate that was watered down. I was out of patience so rather than ask for the rest of what I ordered I left. Maybe if you’re a regular the service is different. But if you’re out of town skip this place, not worth it.
I’ll be in the area again this weekend and definitely won’t be going back.

Love this place! The breakfast was amazing and I really enjoyed their matcha tea! There is also a record room which I loved!

outstanding little coffee shop tucked away in old Mt Holly. My espresso was excellent.

1st time there! Coffee was great and got hashbrowns which were seasoned deliciously 😊 service and conversation with the locals and girl working there was awesome too. I will be back!

The staff is very friendly. Very quaint and small town family feel that I love. They have a little seating area outside where you could enjoy your cup of coffee, breakfast sandwich, bagel etc. The breakfast sandwiches are great! They offer town events every so often too which is nice. Would recommend ! Would rather pay prices support a local business than the larger coffee chains.

Although this spot was historically charming, I’m baffled by how rude and unpleasant the young girl who took our order was. She glared at us and spoke to us so coldly, I didn’t even want to proceed with ordering drinks. Cultivating interpersonal skills and treating customers/clients well is necessary for success in the workforce. If you can’t succeed at that at the coffee shop job level, you won’t be able to succeed at the corporate level. It’s also quite classless and immature to display your emotions at the expense of acting professional. We won’t be returning.

Katie is AMAZING, super fun and HIGHLY recommends the deluxe sandwich. All the staff is wonderful. Great indoor and outdoor seating. Food is more satisfying than removing a nail with the pointy end of the hammer, coffee hits the spot more often than Olympic archer Mete Gazoz.
