We tried to go to Shyrl’s once before, but the lines were too long. If you’re looking for a modern, fancy diner, this is not it. It’s old fashioned, family-oriented, and the food is cooked right before you and fresh. My son and I love eggs Benedict and we were happy to see it posted as a special. Made to order with delicious hash brown potatoes (crispy outside, soft inside). Nice, friendly staff. Attentive. And the prices cannot be beat!

I absolutely had an amazing experience here. Just at the entrance, this diner had me at its sassy quotes - "Think. It's not yet illegal" / "We're short staffed, so if you ever feel impatient, we would be happy to get you an application to fill out " 😂.
Anyway, the diner had a really homely vibe and the ladies serving us were very sweet! The food and coffee were great, and this place would be an apt choice if you're looking for a comfy breakfast under $10 (per head). We took the garbage omelet and the steak and eggs, and both the dishes would come highly recommended.
Also as a side note, there's a lady who makes cute necklaces and bracelets, and they are up for grabs. So if you want a free diner merch from this place, feel free to take one. Mine's attached in one of the pictures.

Popular place with extraordinary low prices, generous servings and friendly service by the ever smiling Chantelle! Two eggs with homemade toast and home fries only $4.75. My husband enjoyed a grilled pineapple muffin, hash, eggs and bacon. Definitely patronized by the locals. Small parking next to building or park on street.

I absolutely loved this place. Food was okay, diner was clean, though a tad rundown. However, the local charm sold me big time. Watching (I think) Shyrl get hugs from the guest, speaks volumes to me. The locals actually helped with the coffee, and made hilarious jokes. "Better leave a God damn tip" had me laughing so hard. This is a perfect example of a great small town diner, I'd gladly go back to.

Wow what a great experience. Extremely friendly and personable staff who serve delicious food. Great prices and service I can't believe I have never been to Shyrl's before. It was busy and parking can be a little tricky but it is worth it.

Thoroughly enjoyable. Owner in dining room conducting a Breakfast Club for all the regulars. Super friendly. Great prices. Wish we had found this place earlier in our trip. Chantel served with a bright smile.

Absolutely love this restaurant! The staff is amazing. Shyrl is an icon in this town! The most amazing home cooked food!
Nothing from the can. All of it home made. Order a milkshake! They are so good!

The prices were super affordable. Loved our waitress! Very attentive and fun! My boyfriends dad tends to joke around alot and she gave it right back. Lots of laughs.

I really don't understand how Shyrls diner has so many 5 star reviews. This place was filthy, and the food was below average. The ceiling fan literally has 1/3rd of an inch of grease and grime the whole place is in need of a professional cleaning. Our food was just that food with nothing special about any of it. I've read some of the other reviews, and Shyrl seems very disrespectful in her replies to criticism, even called one reviewer a jerk. They must have a friend in the health department. I definitely don't recall this diner.

Don’t bother. The only worse than the bland food was the service.
This was the short nicer version. Since I was asked by the owner. here is the long version.
I ordered the eggs, Benedict. The hollandaise sauce had no flavor and was somehow greasy and had what I hope was some form of starch to thicken it in chunks. The English muffin was not even toasted. They use ham not Canadian bacon and the only part of this meal that was correct was the eggs. My wife had the corn beef hash. This looked like it had been thrown right from the can onto the plate. I don't have a problem with canned corned beef, but serving it so raw is a problem. My daughter who is 3 and never met a pancake she didn't like kept saying she was full and wouldn't eat. So I tried it, and it was undercooked and probably one of the worst pancakes I have eaten. Both my wife and daughter left half their meal on their plate and I honestly can't say enough bad things about the meal but I think you get the idea. When everyone at the table orders their favorite breakfast and won't finish it there is a problem.
As for the service. While we were waiting for a seat we were waiting for a seat the lady working the grill was joking about how long it has been since she cooked. She made a comment something like look how bad these pancakes are then she put them out for the waitstaff to take. The waitress was short with us and looked like she would have wrath been anywhere else. She never got around to bring the water my wife ordered so in short, the staff was unprofessional and rude. So no we didn't bother reporting that the staff was unprofessional to the staff. It was not worth our time or theirs.
In my mind, you can have rude staff or bad food not both and this place clearly had both. Yes, the place was busy and I am still in shock about that. I hope that clears things up.
