The atmosphere was interesting, lot of antique, a lot of history of the town. The food was very good, server was great. Walking through the main entrance, very strong smell of cigarette smoke, as one has to walk past the casino to get to the restaurant.
Anybody who's made the drive in between Reno and LV knows that it seems to take forever. It is a LONG drive with little stimulation. You actually start to miss companionship. Tonopah is about the halfway point so it's a welcomed oasis. I was tasked with driving a moving truck in between the two cities and this was a darling little restaurant.
The restaurant staff was extremely friendly, very very chatty, yet my food was in front of my face in less than 10 minutes. Seriously seriously impressed. With that being said, I was expecting the quality to be lacking, but I was wrong too. Everything was delicious: the blue cheese burger, the potato salad, and even the coffee was some of the best I've ever had. I was an out-of-towner, but I felt like a local. My only gripe, albeit a small one: the Wi-Fi is terrible to non-functioning ... but that's to be expected given the middle of nowhere location. Great job, Tonopah 👍
Not the most welcoming place at all. If you like being stared down by the staff and locals this is it, look no further. If you don't like people that are passing through to drop in... Close your doors and turn off the sign
My go to breakfast spot when in Tonopah semi-annually. I always get the Ground Round Steak and Eggs, Medium Rare, hashbrowns and white toast (pictured) which is spot on and classic diner fare. The service is good and friendly, though can be slow when busy. I don't particularly care for Tonopah Station itself, as I feel it is about 20 years overdue for a deep clean, and the morning casino clientele appear to be the dregs of the previous evening, some of which frequently trickle into the cafe in a loud stupor, further complicating and delaying the expedition of service (this happens almost every other time I visit).
I enjoyed my breakfast here. Seriously some of the best omelets I've ever had and the hashbrowns were cooked to perfection! So yummy I came back twice! The staff was super friendly and attentive. We'll definitely stop here again next time we're in Tonopah.
They were not busy when I went in. The food was delightful. I had the veggie omelet - sub the broccoli for bell peppers, hash brown, rye toast, and a lemon meringue pie. The waiter was kind and prompt and the food was delivered faster than any restaurant I have been to. Worthy of a stop. Only suggestion I would make for them is to not put the jam/jelly on top of the toast. It could be riddled with bacteria.
The workers were a little busy when we arrived, so it took them a few minutes to acknowledge us, but when we were seated, our waitress was extremely friendly and gave us a lot of cool facts about the items in the restaurant (all of which are antiques) and was just enjoyable to converse with. The food arrived promptly and me and all 4 of the people I was with enjoyed our meals. I would highly recommend this place.
The food was lackluster and tasteless. The cook clearly skipped the wait staff's notes and gave me micro tomatoes on my sandwich instead of extra. And where was the chocolate in the chocolate milkshake? Very disappointing for sure. Service was ok, but squabbles about breaks should be kept private. Guests don't need to hear the snark as they come through the door.

We visited a few times while in area, the kids like the atmosphere, and the food was better than most places in town.
